Integrate with MacOS notifications
Notifications built into the OS (which all apps I've seen use other than Outlook and now Teams) are more functional and allow for more user control. Most importantly, they honor Do Not Disturb settings, which is critical.
We are continuing to work on this feature. As with Windows notifications, we are also doing work to give users the choice between Teams notifications & Mac notifications.
We will update you as work progresses.
Our company moved over to Teams and I hate the Teams notifications on Mac OS, they are ugly and unreliable and not configurable. Please support built-n Mac OS notification center like every other application in use. I miss messages from Teams all the time (relying on iOS). We were all on Telegram which was great, and some of us still use it, even though Teams is officially the IM app we should be using company wise. Even Slack is better at notifications than Teams, and that is saying something!

You are not rebuilding an entire operating system. Please.
It's been almost 4 years now.
Just use the API, test and ship it.
Everyone should start sending the complaints to email@example.com.
Maybe if they hear from us directly they'll start taking it seriously instead of sitting on it for 3 YEARS.
The Teams notifications are absolute TRASH. A blank white box appears, and sometimes if you're lucky, it actually shows who contacted you before it disappears on its own.
I don't understand why this is such a hard thing to integrate when ALMOST ALL OTHER APPS, INCLUDING M$ APPS, HAVE THIS BY DEFAULT.
This isn't friggin' rocket science, and you really should COMPLETE a product, especially if it's going to be used in a BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT.
I already see this going the way of how S4B went and M$ doing NOTHING to fix the usability. Heck there's been a feature request for a MINOR thing to be fixed in Excel that was posted OVER A YEAR AGO, and still has not been implemented, no matter how much we complain.
I'd love to know when you're going to take the 4015 Votes on this seriously, because EACH ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE ARE A PAYING CUSTOMER.
Stop dicking around with virtual backdrops for the Zoom Kids, and focus on usability. This interface is absolutely atrocious, and you could learn a thing or two from Slack and Discord.
Get off your fat behinds and fix. This. Business. Application. You overpaid hacks.

Benefits that Teams notifications provides - none. Ship the macOS Native Notifications!!! Quit wasting your time on the option for Teams notifications because no one wants it.

I miss calls and message because of this!

Since this is still open and my GitHub issue was closed:
This is ridiculous. You guys have been working on this issue for well over a year and still don't have adequate notifications for Mac users. Neither the web version or the desktop app even give us the "sound notifications" option in our settings! And Banners don't pop up when they should! Clearly this is not a priority for Microsoft to fix if it's been going on unresolved for this long. It's looking like we'll be sticking with Slack if Microsoft can't come up with an update or solution quickly!
I can't believe Teams is so mainstream when simple things like this have not yet been implemented. This and the ridiculous process of signing in and out when switching between orgs that I work for.
just when is Microsoft going to get over your temper tantrum and recognize the fact that Apple exists, people use MacOS - people LIKE MacOS yet they also need to leverage MS tools as well? MS's attitude reflects the old IBM mantra of the world revolving solely around YOUR mindset Get over it already - you'll sell more and stop blowing off a huge market share
I'm glad to read this

Really would like this features. I want to be able to work without seeing notifications!
not having a proper notification system in ms teams is making me switch back to Slack... can't understand what's preventing you to deploy this feature after 3.5 years?
This is a ridiculous omission. I often share my screen to present and have notifications showing in the corner because Teams doesn’t respect the native notification settings.
it's getting embarrassing..
Ridiculous guys, honestly, shame on you.
Not to pile on but I have to agree. There are development teams 1/1000000 the size of Microsoft that are able to use native macOS notifications. Should not be a years long project.

This is not just a look-and-feel issue but a usability issue — of course I want to be able to manage notifications via the standard macOS system interface, but what's worse is when the Teams notification window appears *under* a system notification that has not yet been cleared, making the Teams notification unreadable, and by the time I clear the system notification, the Teams window has vanished again.
I'm glad to see the response that this is being worked on as of February 2020, but you said that in April 2019 that it was about to be rolled out by the end of that quarter, and we haven't seen any progress since then; so you can understand our frustration.
