Multi-window for chats and more
I want to have separate top-level windows for each person I'm chatting with, rather than tabs.
Hooray! Multi-Window chat has been a long-awaited feature, and it is rolled out fully to the general public. Please be sure to “check for updates” and restart your client if you aren’t seeing it.

Please please look in to this. It is a huge disadvantage that you are not able to have multible windows of teams open.
Still no answer to this?
Come on Microsoft, please address this!
Searching for how to open multiple Teams windows, I see that people have been clamoring for this for _years_. I need to be able to view/edit a couple shared documents while adding tasks to planner and having a meeting. It's ridiculous that the only way to do this is by opening teams in multiple browser tabs.

While this feature is now here for Windows and Mac clients, it's still missing from the webapp and Linux clients. Disappointing it's not even in the Developer Preview version of the Linux client.
EDIT: Looks like it is in both the stable version and developer preview for the Linux client, with the following caveats:
- Stable: only the `/pop` command works to pop a chat out, there is NO button on the chats to pop out the chat to a new window
- Developer Preview: Button is there next to chats, so both this and the `/pop` command work, but I cannot pop calls out to their own window.
Since this is in the dev preview I guess I just have to be patient for it to show up in Stable, but can we please get the ability to pop out any chat? Just feels neutered because I can't pop out a call or a channel, only ad-hoc chats with individuals.

Should be able to open new Chat outside of the main MS Team application so I can stay on the document/team/file/calendar in the main Team app, currently I have to switch to Chat before popping out a chat window then have to go back to where I was adding more steps.
PLEASE its impossible to use this tool without that. When you are at a meeting and need to see something in a group (like a channel or an item) its toooooooo bad experience.. seems like a bug!!!

Someone below mentioned multi window chats. but This story is more than just that. the user experience for teams really makes it difficult to use the integrated features in a multi tasking capability.
e.g. I am using planner as a tab in Teams and i need to send a chat, i have to navigate away from the planner into chat to respond to a quick message or I am updating planner and asking someone a question about something in planner. The constant switing is distracting and highly unproductive as it breaks your train of through particularly when it take a second to reload each tab.
similarly i am in a video conference and i need to check planner or one note in one of my teams
another scenario, i am in screenshare meetring and i want to share the planner tab with everyone, when i share my screen, teams automatically minimises and i have to go back into my teams and select the planner or one note tab.
the whole one app experience might be ok for a tablet but majority of us are using a desktop and for some of us multi tasking is key to our work. Teams needs to better implement multi tasking.
as mentioned by the person that posted this idea, i keep telling everyone for a company that made windows i dont understand why teams is just "window" lol...
@Charlie Moran - you can use the ctrl+/ and then "call" shortcut to call someone without having to leave the main Teams window. Not quite as good as having a call button in the popout, but better than leaving your main Teams window.

I would like to have Teams multi-window.
Clicking the chat notification should bring the popped out chat window first before the main Teams window if it is present. I spawn the popout window if i want something to stay on view of the main window.

The pop-out chat is great, BUT, you can't call someone from there! You have to go back to the main teams window, find that person and then click call. Why can't I call from the pop-out window? Seems like a simple change! This new feature is suddenly frustrating! Please add the ability to call someone from within the pop-out!

Please make chats within channels pop-out, like you did for non-channel chats. I would really like to migrate all of my chats into channels, but the lack of the pop-out capability hinders this.
Also, per the main topic of this chat... definitely need to be able to pop out each tab of teams.

MS swing and miss. The new chat feature to allow a new window for chats is fine but when its needed most is when a person is in a meeting and other people are chatting to me that are not in the meeting. The chat icon should permit me to drag that icon to another monitor DURING A MEETING and then I can see regular chats on another monitor.
I think this is what I want. I thought I wanted https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/16926739-multi-window-for-chats-and-more, but that is completed and it is not close. I can pop out chats in individual windows, but they don't persist that way. If I pop a conversation out, I want it that way until I tell it not to. Leave it to Microsoft to ***** things up. This is exactly like how the Skype used to work back in the day and it was great for keeping everything separate.
Need to be able to pop out a document while working in it so I can get back other Teams/channels and chats
Multi window chats for simultaneous conversations. Also Skype interface was much more user friendly for basic interactions. Not happy with teams at all
allow to open multiple windows to TEAMS-space as it's possible in chat part.
Agree.... the multi-window pop-out for chat is a small step in the right direction, but what about all the other conversations?
Please make all conversations able to be opened in their own window!
While you are at it, just make the entire teams window able to be duplicated as much as we want!
