Allow different notifications options on teams and channels
I see this is planned. I hope it takes into account the feedback outlined in
https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public-preview/suggestions/16988692-assign-members-to-channels which (I think) is related. Assigning Members to Channels would set default notifications - with different defaults being set for the Team.

I would like the ability to control notification settings for each team and channel that I am included in. Similar to Skype, there are sometimes very active channels that I would only like to be notified of if I get an @mention, but my global settings should remain as my general notification preference for channels I have not configured more granularly

You got notification in a channel only if you include an @NameOfTheTeam which is a bit cumbersome.
We need automatic notification trough the app and mobile app.

Do we have any update/ETA on this? We could really do with some more engagement Microsoft, it's all gone quiet.
The challenge I have is that I'm trialing teams with some groups of colleagues, and whilst the initial response is very positive, since there are no notifications on new team messages people just forget that teams is there, and engagement doesn't stick.
External users I can live without for the time being, but this is #1 priority for me.
This is also very important to my team. Specifically, we would like the option to be notified on every new conversation in a team, as well as the ability to choose to be notified to all new replies or only new replies to conversations we have either created or participated in.
I'd love to see how many teams have had an update on my task bar as I'm am member of several

I really need to be able to "mute" a specific channel. There are some channels I would like to browse casually, but not be notified when the channel itself is @mentioned.
Desktop notifications in the web app also critically important for us (https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public-preview/suggestions/16939057-use-desktop-notifications-on-web-browsers)

We have moved back to Slack until this feature can be added.

please add this feature this is a make or break for us to. we are not getting notifications with the team chats.
Not getting notification on group chat is a deal breaker.
I don't know other teams but this is too important for our team communication. Would be enough to add notification settings per group chat. So, people don't want to get notifications won't get them.
Unfortunately, we changed back to using Slack until this is implemented.

Any ETA on when this feature will be available?
Many of my emailing distribution groups are moving to Teams, so I'd like to apply different notification settings per team and channel, so that I can focus on the things that are important to me.

How about a notification icon in the teams application itself. For example if I'm in a chat with someone and new content is posted in a team, put an ! next to the teams icon on the left side, or something of that nature so I know to click over there and look.
There needs to be notifications for new messages on Team conversations. I get notifications for posts made in chats, but not for posts made in a Team conversation. Love this product, but can't use the Team conversations without notifications.

We are experimenting with integrating teams in the CSS business... basically displaying all incoming support cases in a channel and letting SMEs give tips as the cases arrive.
We need a way of notifying people every time a post is added over the connector. Getting alerts for all messages would be awesome. (opt-in of course)
This is crucial

Agree, #teams need different settings
Agree, need options for notifications on all activity - probably on my default.
This should at the very least be a toggle-able option. I can see where large teams would want it off, but the organization I'm at works in much smaller teams (5-7 people). Team chat is essentially useless if the team isn't actively looking in it - which won't happen without notifications.

Notification popups should be at least modifiable by the user... but have the ability to be turned on to ALL Teams, Groups and not just direct messages.
