Disable chat temporarily during meetings
Please allow meeting organizer to temporarily disable chat during a meeting.
We often have people so focused on the chat, they don't pay any attention to the actual meeting.
We'd love to be able to turn off chat at the beginning of the meeting, and then turn it back on at an appropriate point.3,903 votesThank you for your feedback. The ability to enable and disable meeting chat in a meeting is now available. To learn more, please see “Turn off the meeting chat” at https://support.microsoft.com/office/change-participant-settings-for-a-teams-meeting-53261366-dbd5-45f9-aae9-a70e6354f88e.
Thanks!

Skype integration (Consumer Federation)
It would be nice to integrate public Skype (not Skype for Business) into Teams. I am able to chat with Skype for business users within my organization but when working with external clients I still have to go back to public Skype. If I could even just simply chat and call with Skype users as well that would allow me to use Teams as my sole communication platform.
3,903 votesAdmins can now enable their tenant to allow Teams users to chat with and call Skype users by using their email address and vice versa.
More details here: https://docs.microsoft.com/microsoftteams/teams-skype-interop for more details
Enjoy!

File column sort order
Make column sort order "sticky" so that if I prefer to sort my files by Name instead of Last Accessed, Team will remember my preference within a Team
3,871 votesWe are happy to share that the column sort order can now be preserved in the Files Channel tab!
Please see the below SharePoint documentation for creating and updating custom views of a document library. This is now honored in Microsoft Teams.
Thanks for your feedback!

Load picture as background instead of blur background in Teams video chat
How about loading a picture as a defined background instead of just blur the background during a Teams video chat?
So, for example, I could load an all black picture as the default background to keep the focus on me.
3,308 votesWe are happy to announce that we have released user initiated custom video background images. For more details, please see the link below.

Need read receipts
Mobile working, Asynchronous working of teams is a common phenomena. Read receipts let us know if the message has been seen, so we know it can be acted on. Critical when large numbers of the team are mainly mobile workers.
3,171 votesRead receipts are fully rolled out to the public ring.
You can find out more about the feature here –

Allow use of existing OneNotes/documents for channels
My team has a pre-existing OneNote. It would be really helpful to be able to create a tab that uses this, rather than being forced to start with a blank notebook.
2,374 votesGreat news!
Starting today, there’s an updated OneNote option in the Tab Gallery that allows you to create a new notebook for your tab, point to an existing notebook, or link to a particular OneNote section or page. This update is not yet available for EDU customers, but we’ll continue to update this new OneNote experience to make it easier to bring your important content into Teams!

Polls and Forms in Meetings
There have been several members on the Tech Community who have asked to have forms and polls in meetings. Currently can have notes, whiteboard, files etc. Snap polls were a part of SfB but having Microsoft Forms and Polls (whether via Polly or a native app) would be an improvement and a much more interactive meeting! Best, Chris

Turn off message preview in notification toast
Currently, when I receive a message, a preview of this message is displayed in the notification toast. As we will be using Teams at work, it would be great for privacy if I had the option to turn off these previews, so the notification toast will just say "New Message from XY"
2,087 votesTo provide you with even more privacy, Teams now lets you turn off message previews in your desktop notifications. Message previews are on by default. To turn them off, go to your profile picture, select Settings > Notifications > Show message preview. From here, switch the toggle to off.

Introduce Freedesktop dbus notifications for Linux
Teams currently uses a custom notification which can't be controlled, and it breaks in tiling window managers such as Sway or i3. (Steals focus and position is always on the middle of the screen.)

Notifications for all messages in a channel
There is no clear way how to enable all notifications in channels. I have channel where I am interested in all messages.
1,957 votesI hope this brightens your Friday — your feature request is here! Our hardworking engineers have been working on this for weeks and we’re happy to report it released yesterday.
To set notifications for all messages in a channel, just click the little ellipses next to the channel name and choose “Follow this channel.”
If this made your Friday, please tweet to us! You can send the tweet to me (@skprufo) or just include the #MicrosoftTeams hashtag, and I’ll make sure it gets to our dev team.
THANK YOU for making Teams better and better with your awesome feedback. You guys are the best.
Sincerely,
Suphatra

Using Teams Offline
MULTIPLE USERS reporting offline needs:
Generally want to use Teams offline:
If I am offline it would be great to browse through Teams and Channels in case I have to lookup some informations.
Also viewing the latest notes in "Notes" on teams would be great.
It would be enough to have "Read only" - for the moment my Teams app does not even open when I am offline
Compared on my mobile - I can read all posts while I am offline.
Edit while offline:
just been using teams wiki to take and share notes in a meeting. when the…

Be able to choose different device for ringing
When I don't have my headset on I cannot hear when somebody calls.
Should have an option to ring on a different device e.g. Skype 7.41.x. See attached.1,890 votesWe are happy to announce this feature is released to the public.

Team Templates
A team template!! Much like sharepoint document site or site templates that contain a specific layout and set of documents this would be amazing for a team template. We could deploy a team for each project we had that had a preset assignment of planner tasks and documents attached to it and a preset of channels that goes with that team. Could really make a big difference in the way we deploy and use teams.
1,808 votesThank you for your continued feedback. This feature is now available . For more information, please visit https://support.microsoft.com/office/create-a-team-from-a-template-a90c30f3-9940-4897-ab5b-988e69e4cd9c.

Drag and Drop attachments
It really slows us down to have to click Attachment and browse the finder to find an image. Would prefer drag and drop.
1,781 votesThis item is still completed, HOWEVER many of you have reported a new issue: drag/drop does not work when you are taking a file directly from email (i.e. Outlook) and trying to drop it into Teams. I experience the same problem every day, too!
If you’d like this function, please add your votes to this UserVoice item for that specific drag/drop ask: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103/suggestions/16927345
Thanks and hope you’re having a great day.

Lock the Video Spotlight
In Skype for Business hosted meetings, there is a feature called "Lock the Video Spotlight" that allows you to choose a video feed that's displayed to all participants. This feature does not appear to be in the Teams client today, and it doesn't appear on the Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams Capabilities Roadmap.
In some Teams meetings I want all my participants to just view one presenters video stream and not have the 4 participant split view. We need a way for the Teams meeting host to force their video to be prominent from the participants view.
1,720 votesWe are excited to announce the spotlight feature has been enabled for General Availability. To learn more, please visit https://support.microsoft.com/office/spotlight-someone-s-video-in-a-teams-meeting-58be74a4-efac-4e89-a212-8d198182081e.
Note: If you record a meeting in which someone’s video is spotlighted, the video won’t be spotlighted in the recording. This is just a temporary limitation, stay tuned for updates.

Ability to Mute a Conversation Thread
Please allow the ability for individual users to mute replies to a thread they have participated in. Allow this to be a toggle located under the three dot menu or an additional hover button.
1,655 votesMuting of conversation threads is available to the public. Just like muting a chat, turning off notifications to a channel conversation will stop you from receiving updates for that specific conversation.
To turn off notifications for specific conversations
- Go to the beginning of a conversation in a channel
- Go to the top right corner of the original message in the conversation thread and select More options … > Turn off notifications.
- Don't see your idea?
