  1. Merge Calls

The ability to "Merge calls" was available in Skype for Business. The ability to call one person, put them on hold then call a second person, and then merge the calls together just like it was on Skype for Business.
    Why was this ability removed?

  2. Channel thread losing focus

When I'm in a thread, even in the middle of typing a sentence, and someone updates another thread in the channel, my thread loses focus. From my perspective my thread has just disappeared (is hasn't, it has just been moved up the channel scroll). This is terribly unexpected behavior.

  3. Whatsapp-like threads

Show threaded messages in a way that retains the chronological order. Allow user to navigate to previous messages in the thread the way Whatsapp does it.

Then have a button to switch the view from chronological to fully threaded (the way it is currently implemented), and back.

  4. Linked Threads

Often times in our company it becomes apparent that a thread is moving into territory that would be better off moved to a separate channel, however that "move" could be into a channel that some of the members do not have favorited or followed, and coworkers who were following the initial thread can miss the jump quite easily and never see the resolution. Providing a link from one thread to another that opened (or is directly related) in a separate channel could really help prevent back-tracking to old or dead threads to keep pointing people to the "new" or…

  5. move threads

The ability to move threads to different channels would be great. Sometimes people post threads in the wrong/inappropriate channel, so moving them to the correct channel would be useful (even if only an admin user could do this).

  6. Ability to change default send from creating a new thread to replying to current thread

In any chat, I would like to be able to have all chats default to be threaded, and then break them out into new threads if needed. The current method is all chats are new threads.

Example: First message in chat creates thread, subsequent messages auto-reply to that thread. If someone wishes to start a new thread they can either change the message using the menu link on the right or press a button to start a new thread.

  7. Open thread as chat

When you open a thread then it shows often "X replies from other persons". With a bigger thread it is sometimes harder to read. Use an option (double click??) on a thread to open it as a chat.

The most part of this feature is apparently already available, since when I copy the link of a thread and open it through the browser, Microsoft teams will open the thread as a chat. I can't find this access through the Microsoft Teams window however.

  8. Thread following

Following a conversation thread is difficult when it splinters into multiple conversation threads and make it impossible to see all in the correct sequence.
Team members often miss important contributions from other team members making this a potentially dangerous application to use

  9. Keyboard shortcut for expanding threads

If you are in the process of writing a reply to a thread and wish to expand the thread, you are forced to use the mouse to click in the thread expansion area.

Add a keyboard shortcut to expand the current thread so you do not need to leave the keyboard.

Also make the keyboard shortcut easily discoverable e.g. using a tool tip on the thread expansion area.

  10. Answering to a thread

If you start in a channel a new thread one should use the answering field to answer directly to the thread. Most people will start a new thread to anser directly. That makes the discussions confusing. To avoid that I would suggest to mark the field where you can start a new thread with "Start a new Thread here" /In German "Starte ein neues Thema hier". The Answering Field the word "Answer"should be a little bit more black. That would make it easier to distinguish between these to possiblities to answer to an topic.

  12. Add thread display options

Have an option to turn off threads in a channel and display all messages by time.

Set threads to be anchored by original post time.

  13. Extract Chat Threads

Is there going to be a better way or capability to extract chat threads? Also it seems to be a pain when trying to copy the thread, it does not stay highlighted nor copies names.

  14. Ability to reorganize threads.

Usually we start conversation on a thread, but during conversation in progress, it will involve more than 1 issue. when that happen, I would like to separate thread and move some written message to new thread. but it is not possible at current version of Teams. ( of course, text can be copy& paste. but it don't have entire info e.g. writer's name & icon ) . so if possible please add move message function in ... of each thread.

  15. Email Thread Conversations

We use Teams to capture a number of our emails, so we don't have to leave Teams and it's centrally searchable. The issue we have is that every reply to that email creates it's own new thread.

Teams should have the ability (based on subject) to thread the replies into a single conversation/thread to stop cluttering the interface. Perhaps similar to how Outlook can group conversations.

  16. Thread GUI - please modify to prevent unintentionally starting new threads

The GUI for posting to threads is horrible. It is waaaaaaay too easy to start a new thread when you really mean to answer an existing one. In just about every other 'chat' program I know of, the big box at the bottom of a thread is for a reply. eg. Facebook, eg. Yammer, eg. Teams chat!!!
I should not have to click a separate link to 'reply.'

  17. Add a functionality enabling to merge / split Teams Group

Organizations evolve and teams or projects split or merge. A functionality enabling splitting or merging Teams Group (and thus retrieving easily Files, OneNotes, etc...) would stick to "real life"

  18. Bring back indentation on reply threads

Reply threads used to be indented more and made it clear that the replies were to the owner thread. Now they all kind of look the same and it's harder to differentiate between threads and replies

  19. connector notifications to thread

When adding connectors (3rd party and custom) it would increadibly powerfull to allow the channel/team moderator the possibility to define if all / some (filter rule) of the notifications will go into one thread or post a new thread. Currently when it is basically a new thread all the time, some connectors will create quite a disturbing amount of content flow in the channel (spam some would say) while having a thread it would allow channel members to better follow any ongoing conversation as well in a sense "follow" specific threads. Giving this type of control to the…
