Hi there, you’ve reached the user feedback site for Microsoft Teams. It’s managed by our Customer Advocacy Team inside Microsoft Teams Engineering led by Karuana Gatimu. Our entire team believes in representing your needs inside our engineering group and we appreciate the time you take to share them with us. Rest assured that a large team of dedicated people read and discuss your feedback!
Here’s how to get your voice heard:
1 — VOTE for existing ideas (this will also subscribe you to the idea’s status updates)
2 — SUBMIT new ideas (Please include only one suggestion per post. Duplicates are merged together.)
3 — RATE the product by clicking the little orange star on this page. This helps us understand our overall standing with users. It will collect your rating every six weeks.
4 — COMMENT in ideas’ threads, which we check regularly
For official product and feature updates we recommend three things:
When I type out an emoji (like :-) ) the menu comes up and will not go away. Esc doesn't work, selecting elsewhere doesn't work. The only thing that works is to go to a different channel and then return to the one I wanted to be in.
Everytime someone changes his status to Away in calendar (holidays...), this banner appears in each conversation where this person is. The banner appears automatically few seconds after having selected the conversation, even if it as been closed earlier. It's really boring... Please allow to remove this banner until next unavailability of this person. Thanks
We have had this option on other chat systems by just by adding ourselves as a contact. This has proved useful for getting items from say a phone or laptop to another device or for holding a file or info we need for a short period of time.
Where are my contacts?!? Please add as a core button. Help guide says go to call and select my contacts but there is no call on desktop version. Any members of teams should automatically be added to my contacts. This is such a basic requirement.
Right now when someone sends more than 1 message in a row to a teams channel they will all get posted as their own message to the channel.
I think it would be nice if there was maybe a timeout where if you post multiple messages within a time frame they will just reply to the first message you sent and keep it tidy rather than starting multiple conversations that are ultimately related to the same topic.
The left Hamburger menu should be removed. It doesn't offer enough feature to keep it there.
Place the settings menu at the bottom right where the call tab is currently. Move the call tab from the bottom right to the bottom left and remove the recent activity tab. You already highlight the channels that have updates so what's the need for an activity list.
