  3. Use system proxy configuration on Linux

The only way that I found to make the Linux application to work behind proxy was add "--proxy-server=https://x.com:port" to the command line.
Would be better to use httpproxy and httpsproxy environment variables.

  4. improve screen/window sharing on linux

Using the web client on Linux, I have a choice to share the complete screen or a single window. It's a basic feature of chrome, dialog is very similar (identical?) to other platforms offering screen/window sharing (zoom, BBB...).

The "native" client is based on electron, therefore closely related to chrome. However, only sharing the complete screen is possible on linux, it is not possible to share a specific window.

Since support works fine in the chrome webclient, this restriction in the electron based native client seems to be arbitrary. It feels like removing a restriction is all that needs to…

  5. Add a "Raise Your Hand" feature in meetings on Linux platform

  7. Bug report: Link missing when hiding large text-body in Teams Webhook Connectors

So, I followed the advice given here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Teams/Where-is-the-best-place-to-report-bugs/td-p/32183

    I posted a bug report here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Teams/Bug-report-Link-missing-when-hiding-large-text-body-in-Teams/m-p/169272#M12158

Apparently, it has been marked as spam, so Ill try posting the same report here:

I have been looking for the documentation for Teams Webhook Connectors. I did a Bing-search for 'MS teams webhook connector documentation' and found soemthing [1]. The documentation doesn't fully explain the purpose of all fields that can be included in the POST request. I hope there's a better resource out there, somewhere, but I highly doubt it.

To the point: An example webhook POST [2] specifies that the body of…

  9. Our observations. Overall we will keep using Teams but needs some work

    Too much real estate
chat-content-to-app-window-size ratio is waaay too low. Only about 1/3 of my app's window contains chat content. A good chat app should display a rich chat history and occupy the bulk of the window space. Slack and Hipchat both did this much better.

    What's wrong with single-flow chat?
The nested conversations make for an awkward message flow. This can make it difficult to find old messages in the chat history or to see recently posted messages

    Now you see me ...
conversations auto-collapse after a certain number of messages (even for messages I haven't yet read!) and…

  11. Stop treating Linux users as second class citizens

The response to this request (https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/40324324-keep-the-linux-client-up-to-date-with-the-latest-f) exhibits the exact lack of caring on a corporate level about Linux users that the 5,085 people who voted for it were asking to stop. In the initial request, several examples were provided of features that were months old but still not made available to Linux users — but these were merely examples. The official company response was to close the report and link to other issues where people are asking for those specific features to be implemented. The problem is, that request is to provide Linux users with feature parity to…

  12. Ability to turn off 'Are you still here?'

  13. open DevTools on Teams for Linux

PC and Mac versions have "Open DevTools" menu item on the app icon.

We need an equivalent on Teams for Linux.

  15. Integrate with libnotify notifications on Linux

On Linux, global notifications are pretty much always handled with libnotify, across desktop environments. Rather than creating your own windows for notifications (that then need to be separately silenced from system notifications). This will also allow Teams to integrate with thins like Do Not Disturb mode, etc.

  16. Microphone always in use on Linux Client

With the Linux client, after a meeting is finshed and I have left, the system says that Teams is still using the microphone. This notification does not go away until I quit Teams.

When I leave a meeting Teams should no longer be using the mic.

  17. Ability to configure proxy settings on Linux client

It would be a great enhancement to be able to configure proxy (including proxy url / PAC file) via UI.

  18. user agent string

Some organisations use a third party Authorisation layer (like DUO Security for example) and the Teams Client for Linux cannot authenticate against those yet. The web version works because you can change the default user agent string that requests use, it would be great to have an option (can be a command line flag) to override the user agent string used by the application. This functionality is already built into Electron so it should just be a matter of enabling the command line flag.

  19. Permission control between Linux and Windows

I use Linux version of Teams and my other team members use Windows version. While presenting I would like to have give/take control of desktop across Linux/Windows Teams app. I am aware this feature is available in Windows version but its not in Linux.

  20. Linux Desktop Application detect Bluetooth audio changes

The Linux desktop application does not update the audio capabilities if a BT headset is connected, or if the headset changes from A2DP to HFP.
