  1. Non Persistent VDI

Support for Non-Persistent VDI. Currently Teams desktop App installs in the user App folder this means it can't be placed on the base image of non persistent VDI environments.

Are there any plans to provide an alternative install for VDI. Currently we are installing Teams at login for VDI users as a work around.

Good news, this feature has moved into the planning stages. I’ll keep you posted as we continue to move ahead in development.

  2. Proper MSI Installer for VDI

The recent MSI installer isn't really what people are asking for. It doesn't actually install to program files. It just puts an installer in program files which then installs to the users app data. This doesn't work for me at all.

In a non-persistent VDI environment the application has to install on every login (unless I roam appdata/local which I don't want to do). This isn't the end of the world as it's fairly quick but the problem comes when you also use Yammer. Yammer has the same weird install method and when both teams and yammer try to install…

  3. Add a detect if in RDSH/VDI/VM and deny user profile installer

Microsoft Teams developers. Many of us run RDSH/VDI, the team's installer in a user profile in the word of VDI/RDSH is not ideal. Yea, I know you guys have the machine installer. Which thank you for, however that still doesn’t stop the user from actually going and downloading the team (user installer). I can understand at times why it’s a Click to Run application. It makes sense for a PC, but not a VDI/RDSH setup. You guys have made a lot of progress around our needs so thank you for this. Please consider this as well.

  5. Teams.exe launch options

We have an environment where we are running Teams with a redirected Start-Menu (Therefore also a redirected Startup-folder). We are having some issues with getting Teams autostarting as minimized. We are not able to use the legacy run keys in the registry. The Desktop-config.json is not processed when Autostarting from a redirected start-menu.

This situation prevents us from starting Teams minimized for our users in the platform, which we would like to do.

I'd love to see launch-options for the Teams.exe that can start the program as minimized/in background/hidden
    E.g: "C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams\current\Teams.exe" --StartMinimized

  6. AV Redirection for Teams in WVD

Does anyone know if AV redirection for Teams is available or soon to be available? In the video below they preview it and he runs a script to enable.

  7. Video/Sharing functionality while using Citrix HDX Optimized

Work on video/sharing limitations on Citrix.
When using HDX Optimized (so we don't use all of the server CPU) there are various limitations like only one video, screen sharing only works after creating an audio or video call, no share control, no image blurring.

Our company does not allow Teams to be used outside of the network so we are stuck with the Citrix HDX version.

Citrix has been a success for work for home scenarios and will probably continue being used after COVID.

Any plans on improving the HDX optimized version?

  8. Video Background Blur in VDI

Having video background blur in VDI with Teams is required for some European countries with privacy concerns. Also for video calling on trade floors.

  9. Teams and Enterprise customers

There is a serious glitch in the Microsoft Strategy, there is a lot of enterprise customers that won't transform into Office 365 because Teams does not work on RDS/Citrix. Why can't you put some effort into fixing this!?

Deploying Teams on RDS platforms is impossible, and the end result is that enterprise customers pospones transitioning into these apps.

  11. Optimize Teams Live Events for VDI

Live Events are gaining in popularity and we'd like to see them optimized in VDI like video, audio, and screenshare are now.

  13. Add Give / Take Control in VDI Sessions

We have used SfB for years now, and a typical Support call follows this progression: (1) User contacts us via IM; if discussion doesn't help, (2) User can Screen Share right there on the spot; if a "visual", and more chat doesn't help, (3) we can Request Control (or User can "give" it), and we can then take over the VDI desktop and, in most cases, fix the issue. It's a very SMOOTH, very clean workflow that just WORKS. NOTE: Not having to be on a CALL for this workflow lets us Multi-task even as we're helping this one User...…

  15. Allow sound in screen sharing

When doing a video chat session, and using the screen share option... it would be nice if the other person could hear the audio from your computer. For example, showing 2-3 people an online video tutorial by pulling up the website and screen sharing (rather than having to send them the link)

  16. Use host CPU and Network for VDI

Offload the audio/video processing and network connection to the host processor/NIC so PCoIP and Blast don’t carry that traffic back to the VDI server, resulting in excessive CPU usage on the server, and a much better network path that doesn’t experience 1/2 a second to 1-second if lag making folks talk over each other. Should work with VMWare Horizon client, Azure Virtual Desktops, and Amazon Workstations.

  17. Multiple Windows in Video chat and meetings

I would like to see windows of all the people in the meeting instead of the icons at the bottom & larger screen for the last 4 people that have talked. I would like to be able to manually choose who I would like to look at in the meeting even if they are not speaking at the time. Perhaps you could offer a feature that would default to the person speaking, but allow a manual selection for who midsize windows are open to.

(Also, you shouldn't require categories in your submission form that do not offer explanation... UX design,…

  18. The VDI install for Teams should be able to update without a reinstall

The VDI install should be able to update without us having to uninstall it and then install the new version. However you want to do that - would be nice if you used Windows Update and WSUS, but if you want it to be some new way then whatever. But I find it inconsistent that in 2020 I have to uninstall a Microsoft product to install a minor subversion of the same product.

I have been having nothing but problems trying to upgrade this product. The uninstall from Programs and Features doesn't work, the registry entry for uninstall doesn't work,…

  19. Add version number to MSI installer in the file description

    This is really minor suggestion.
would it be possible to add version details in the properties of .msi installer? To show you what i mean, I have attached screenshot of .msi for MicrosoftEdge which in field "Comments" lists version of finished product. That could be helpful for Admins who need to handle multiple version of Operating Systems and images.
