  1. Implement other Boolean operators than AND for Teams search

I would like you to implement more Boolean operators such as OR to use search in Teams. Currently, we can use AND operator only.

  2. Include Outlook Contacts in Calls Contact list

Include Office 365 Outlook Contacts (local) in the Contacts of calls in a way that the data displayed can be changed to fit the needs of the user.

Outlook contacts are displayed (Thank you) but it is a 1985 display with no customization. Let us control the fields displayed and the size of each field to make this something other than an irritation.

  3. onenote online search entire notebook

I just finished moving onenote notebook sections to our new MS Teams notebook. problem is that search functionality is a joke. it only allows searching for keywords on a particular section or page. why can't it search the entire notebook? please make this happen. Its hard enough convincing an aging demographic of workers to accept newer technology, but it becomes a laughable task when something as Common as search is not even done correct

  4. Add Semi-Private Teams that are searchable and joining is by request

Last February (2018), Microsoft announced that private teams would be discoverable by searching. After negative user feedback, the updated was revoked.

To solve the problem of not being able to search for teams that are not public (which anyone can join), I would suggest that in addition to Private, Public, and Org-Wide teams, that Microsoft add Semi-Private teams. The only difference would be that they would be searchable/discoverable (like Public teams) but instead of anyone being able to join the team (like Public teams), a user would request that they be allowed to join the team. The owner of the…

  5. meeting search

Context Aware Search Across All Areas of Teams
It would be really helpful if we could search specific places in teams independently. i.e. "search w/in conversation" "search meeting names" "search all meeting notes" With a company the size of the one I work for, getting results from all conversations, all channels, is overwhelming and unhelpful, and having to go to outlook and find a meeting and then carry that over to scroll backwards thru meetings is even more cumbersome than it sounds typing.

  7. private teams should have option to be hidden from search or not

Users can not search for private rooms to ask for membership approval. They can search for public teams but those can not be member approved by owners.
We would like to have an option when creating private team whether it is hidden from search or not so users could easily find us and ask for membership.

  9. Teams does not find files in folders

When I search for a file, Teams finds the files that are stored at the root level, but not the files that are inside folders.

  12. Searching contacts using partial names

Searching using a first name (e.g. Thomas) usually results in a list of several people with that name (with different last names). Then you need to use TAB to select the right one. Slow and not very convenient.

Alternatively and it's the way some other apps to it, you could search using the first letters of the first name (e.g. Tho) and beginning of the last name (e.g. Jef for Jefferson).

This way you'll usually get a unique result using only 2-3 letters of the first and last name. e.g. th je usually finds the right Thomas Jefferson ;)y

  13. Search function on mobile app should also show files.

When you search on desktop team app the results ‚messages‘ ‚members‘ and ‚files‘. When you search on mobile app (iOS) the search result is only ‚messages‘ and ‚ members‘. You should also search files on mobile apps.

  14. Invariant Culture User Search

When searching for users the search should be in an invariant culture. Since there are many ways to type a name in different regions it's very uncomfortable having to find the correct spelling for a name. Ej. "José" should be a result for search "Jose" as I don't know if the name has a mark or not or whether it was even created correctly in Active Directory.

  15. Search bar searching within connected cloud folders

I use the box cloud sync to house files. While it is convenient to access the files in my box folders from the teams menu it is silly that the search bar does not search within connected folders.

  16. Search doesn't default to people

I expect to search people in teams to find who they are, or start a conversation with them. Every time I search I see no results and then I remember that I have to switch to "people" tab. I recommend having a global search; why have two tabs and an extra click to find people results? Reduces efficiency and creates user frustration.

  17. search notebook contents

The contents of OneNote Notebook files need to be searchable. The fact that MS has a wonderful search capability in SharePoint and such bad searching in Teams is difficult to understand.

  18. Add Metatags at the Team level

Need to be able to metatag at the Team, Channel, Folder and Doc levels, so metatags are inherited at the highest level.

  19. Make the search as office.com one, a global search !

We want teams to be our digital workplace where we chat, access documents, tasks from planner, website from tabs, bots etc.

The problem with search is that is doesn't let us search in the entire tenant content such as office.com search.

Is there a way that could be achieved ?

    Thank you,
