  1. Improved Help Search - "Tell me what you want to do"

In Word, PowerPoint, etc., a handy "Tell me what you want to do" help/learning feature is always available at the top and it's easily searchable. I would have assumed the Command box in Teams could've handled that task, but it just directs to the main application Help. And this Help section doesn't even have a text search...! How is Help so unhelpful? To get searchable Teams help, one must visit the Help Center online (linked below). At the very least, maybe Teams application should redirect online users there. Many users give up when faced with all these seemingly small, but…

  2. Search within Teams needs improving

The ability to search in Teams for a Public team is only successful if you type the first letters of the name of the Team. If I search for a Team using a word or letters that are in the latter part of the name if does not work e.g. we have lots of Public Teams starting with i3 - POD - <specific name>. I can search using i3, but if i just type POD into search it does not work.

  3. Markers on recording to identify chat messages

When meeting is recorded, it would be great if the chat marker is available on the recording. i.e. when clicking on chat message, it can provide a link to the recording time when the message was posted. The user can easily gain the context of the conversation if such functionality is available.

When a meeting is recorded, chat feels very disconnected if reviewing the meeting content after the meeting has concluded. Looking at the chat history, the messages may seem very disconnected and without context. I recently had to reach out to folks on the chat and ask them to…

  5. Make it easier to find named conversations

If I search for the name of a previous conversation it will not be listed, just the messages inside the conversation. It would be nice if the names of conversations where also listed if they match the search terms. If that's not possible another tab could be added next to Messages/People/Files called conversations.

  6. People search should match transliterated names

Searching for people should match also transliterations of national characters. E.g., not everyone has characters like "ł" or "ě" on their keyboards, it should be possible to search using "l" or "e" in their place.

For instance, searching for "Michal" should return people named "Michał" in results.

  7. Filter messages sent to others

I can see all messages that I'm tagged in or someone replied to me or..... But I can't see messages where a coworker is tagged. So when someone is out sick (for instance) I can't easily filter stuff down to see what people are asking her/him for.

  8. Make the search as office.com one, a global search !

We want teams to be our digital workplace where we chat, access documents, tasks from planner, website from tabs, bots etc.

The problem with search is that is doesn't let us search in the entire tenant content such as office.com search.

Is there a way that could be achieved ?

    Thank you,

  9. Team search in iOS

I belong to many teams. The search field doesn’t let me type in a name and go to them. It only searches on conversations and people. I just want to go to the Team site itself!

  11. Connector search support

Content posted by Connectors (e.g. RSS Feeds, VSTS, Jira, Yammer, etc.) should be included in search results. Having this show up in "messages" is fine/expected but right now searches for things that we know are in conversations do not show up.

Many of us use Teams to aggregate information from multiple places and without search working for connectors, it makes the goal of making Teams the only place one needs to go more difficult.

  12. search then sort by date modified

Doing a search in explorer, waiting for it to complete, then clicking on the "Date Modified" column to sort by most recent causes Windows to start the search all over again. This is frustrating when searching a large directory, because I already wait for the search to complete, then after the results have come up, I should be able to simply sort the results that are already found by their modified date. But instead, I believe due to a bug, Windows Search thinks it has to start the search all over again.

  13. Add a navigation pane for conversations

Can we have a pane for conversations tab that would show all the subjects?

It would look like a navigation pane in MS Word, but instead of showing headers in a document it would show conversation subjects.

This would allow you to quickly browse the conversation tab by subjects in a similar way you do that with a word document.

  15. Dismiss search results after selecting an item

Hi! How do I dismiss the search results column after I get to the conversation or item I was searching for? Right now I can't just dismiss the search column after I get to the conversation. It takes up valuable screen real estate.

I'm using the Microsoft Teams Windows app by the way.

  16. Mobile App Search - Indistinguishable Results

Chat messages and messages in Team threads are very difficult to distinguish between in the mobile search. This leads to poor UX. If a user (me) is not careful when deliberating between results in the early morning hours then they (me) might send a message into a public thread whilst having intended to send a message to a private chat.

Please think about adjusting the prominence of the chat type or including a more distinguishable characteristic between Team messages and Chat messages within search results.

  17. "go to"

please add a Go to... feature that allows you to go to a date within a chat thread rather than having to scroll up from Now to 6 months ago because that is when the conversation happened. if a user could at least GO to June 1, 2017 and start scrolling from there it would be much better.

  18. Fast search without clicking into search input field

Right now when i just activate TEAMS window and start typing, nothing happens. It would be good if default behavior in such case is contact search. So use scenario is:
    * user opens teams window
    * users start typing part of name of user, that he want to chat with
    * teams in search bar shows results
    * i can use keyboard arrows to navigate through results
    * by clicking enter i go directly to chat with focus in text input field

  19. command box chat

The new command box launched on Jan 31, 2018 is great!

However the /chat is missing from the list of features.

It would be great to /chat then enter a name or a few names. Then be able to send them a chat message instead of always having to mouse into the Chat tab, then search or add them to the list. Thanks!
