  3. Secure wiki articles

I just created my first wiki article as a description how to fulfil a job.

I'm wondering about the fact others could not only read my article and comment it, they can also delete it.

Pls create a possibility to prevent wiki articles from delete by all persons

  4. Wiki: Aggregate View/Wiki of All Channel Wiki's into a Team Wiki

We may have a team dedicated to a system, and it would be great if all of the wiki's within channels could be aggregated into a main wiki for the team. This way, if we use the wiki as our documentation, we could more easily peruse information as a single wiki.

The channel wiki's could be seen as "chapters" which could have the functionality of letting you click on a button and then you pivot to that channel from the main wiki.

This is not a replacement of existing wikis, as it is great to access relevant wikis within respective…

  5. Pin wiki menu

Would like to see the ability to pin the Wiki menu once you are in the tab. Every time you go to the tab after reopening your browser you have to open the menu again to display all the pages/sections

  7. Add Table of Contents to wiki interface

A Table of contents for a specific Wiki Page (one with plenty of sections)
Or a table of contents for multiple Wiki pages under the same Hierarchy is very important, for when your wiki becomes larger.

  8. Wiki undo

Add an UNDO and a REDO button to the wiki. Currently there is no way to recover anything that is accidentally deleted.

  9. Ability to create a wiki page in Chat (perfect for One-on-Ones)

I would love to be able to create and pin a wiki in the Chat window of a private chat. This would be really great for conducting one-on-ones with direct reports.

  10. Markdown support not all there

Wiki markdown is not complete in the Teams Wiki. I saw the post in this forum showing some limited support, but I really need full markdown support. This cheatsheet covers it pretty well: https://github.com/adam-p/markdown-here/wiki/Markdown-Cheatsheet.

I recall early versions of the SharePoint wiki. I believe it wasn't widely adopted because it didn't behave like a true wiki. A big part of that is markdown support. With markdown, writing and updating a wiki is fast. Without it, using a wiki is cumbersome.

  11. Drop the "Wiki"

Multi-Wiki considered harmful. Our company already has "a wiki". Then Microsoft Sharepoint encourages a proliferation of "wiki" sites, and now we have another entirely separate place for more "wiki" pages.

The main advantages of a wiki are:
    1) everyone can participate -- any problem or oversight can be corrected by any user
    2) search -- finding things is easy

Having an endless supplies of wikis, where you can't search between them, and not everyone can even view them all, seems to defeat the main benefits of a wiki. Now every channel, in every team, has their own "wiki". And they're…

  12. Wiki Images Broken

When you paste an image from the clipboard it sometimes does not save correctly and instead shows a broken image link. Seems to happen when you click between sections rather than pressing the save tick.

  13. wiki

In general, it would be great to have a feature rich wiki--think Confluence. The current Teams wiki capability isn't even up to par with SharePoint's wiki. Thanks.

  14. Allow copying & paste of wiki from one team to another

I have the same project running in a number of separate regions. Allow copying & paste of wiki from one team to another to avoid having to rekey the data.

  15. Make the Wiki an actual Wiki

Make the Wiki feature into an actual Wiki, instead of just a low quality rich text editor.

  16. WIKI mailto: links

It would be nice to be able to add mailto: style urls in the wiki. Or a way to link a person on the team, automatically opening a chat with the team member.

Example last item on our wiki article:

    INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE. ENJOY!

  17. embed GIF into wiki tab

Teams allows you to embed a .gif into the wiki but the gif becomes a static image after you leave the tab. Gif support seems to be in most places throughout Teams.

  18. The wiki is too rudimentary.

It is cumbersome to even add a page to a wiki -- let alone find it afterwards. The wiki concept is not new. Standards, or at least the expectations, for what a wiki should work and look like are set. At a minimum, there should be a left panel to act as a content browser. I eventually found something like it. But, it's hidden by default! Why does it need to be hidden at all?

Also, I'm all for minimalist design. But, not at the cost of usability. Editing tools should always be visible. Wikis are meant to be edited…

  19. Wiki change history

I like the idea of having change history for wiki pages so that you can see what has been changed and by who. Otherwise you don't really know what has changed since the last time you read it. Then you could also have a subscribe/follow function so that you get notified when something changes (but maybe with a longer delay than chat message notifications so that you won't get to many).

  20. Convert Word to Teams Wiki

Several of our team members have private stashes of documents describing processes or other useful things. We thought it would make sense to bring a lot of that into a Teams Wiki, but you cannot copy the contents of a Word doc and expect success.

First, even though you can now paste an image from the clipboard (hurrah), copying the contents of a Word doc with both images and text will only retain the text. The images need to be copied one by one.

No surprises: Nobody's excited about converting the docs to begin, so making it more difficult than…
