  1. BUG: Teams non-responsive while downloading

While downloading a file from a Chat window Teams goes non-responsive. Should be async task and not block UI.

  3. Desktop is awful

Desktop is glitchy slow and just plain not fun or nice to use. I removed it from my comp and use the app. The app is way more functional. I don’t understand why developers focus so much perfection on apps for mobile devices but when it comes to pc’s nothing ever works.

  4. More apps desktop

    Expand desktop apps tabs.

In the desktop toolbar (left) there is 5 default apps, and a 'More Apps' ellipsis.

This is followed by heaps of whitespace below the ellipsis. The extra apps (or at least user configurable) should be put in here too.

This is particularly useful for planner, as you may be in multiple teams/boards but you want to look at your assigned tasks, to do this currently you need to do at least two clicks.

It's not the end of the world, but it is annoying.

  5. be able to disable graphics hardware acceleration

Some laptop docking stations have graphics adapters that don't work well with some apps: disabling the hardware acceleration usually solves this. The Teams aop needs to support this as well - or if it does, make the settings much easier to find.

  6. Add access to outlook emails this way all Microsoft functions and all in one place

I believe that the user interface could benefit greatly from having access to Microsoft outlook that way I could perform the following all in one place:

    - Discuss items in my teams
    - Add meetings to my outlook calendar
    - Add to-do's as per my task list in Asana
the follow on benefits of the above; and
    - be able to send out emails based on the chat/to do's that have been communicated

  9. Teams app screen position

When using multiple screens, Teams will sometimes "snap" off the viewable screen, where I am unable to move or see the window.

Closing and reopening the app via Task Manager does not fix it.

The only workaround is by going to a single screen and then it "snaps back" into the viewable area.

  10. macOS native keyboard shortcut is overridden

macOS has its native keyboard shortcuts that are helpful for text editing. However, some of them doesn't work on Microsoft Teams.

    * Control-A: Move to the beginning of the line or paragraph.
    - DOESN'T work. Instead, all texts are selected (the same as Command-A)
    * Control-B: Move one character backward.
    - DOESN'T work. Instead, selected texts become bold (the same as Command-B)

Control-A is quite important for me because it is the very common shortcut in Linux/Unix environments. Refer "Moving faster" section on this link for the details.

For all native keyboard shortcuts on macOS, please refer the following…

  11. There needs to be an alert to indicate new items added.

Within the desktop version, there is no indication that new items have been added to review... or new comments

The only communication is via email this would really improve the usage of teams

  12. Navigate to downloaded file by clicking the "item downloaded" box

If you click the "Downloaded" popup on the bottom right a window should open bringing you to the item in Windows explorer.

This isn't complicated. Teams literally opens the downloads folder when that popup is clicked. Now you just need to have it highlight the item that was downloaded.

  13. Allow

Allow file links (https://teams.microsoft.com/_#/files/<link_to_file>) to open in Desktop client when installed. This already works for channel links (https://teams.microsoft.com/l/channel/<link_to_channel>)

  14. Make It Start Up Like Edge - Save State

For quick start-up times, save state of last session.

Less blocking/waiting for main UI to appear.

Allow different aspects become useable when the connections become available so the user has something to do other than wait.

  15. Teams app window position

    I have multiple screens.
I open Teams and then move it to another screen.
When I close Teams and re-open it, it then opens on my main desktop screen again. This did not always happen, in previous versions of teams it would open on the screen it was last on.

This behaviour seems to change from update to update - almost as if there wasn't proper version control going on.

  17. Images need to behave like consumer Skype

Pasting an image into the chat window, and having it very slowly upload like a file is very painful and not user friendly. Please emulate the behaviour of consumer Skype when it comes to handling images.

Teams even said my 4.4MB image was too large... other chat applications just compress the image and don't complain. You can't expect users to be compressing their own images in order to be able to send them, it'll be a support nightmare.

  18. An error has occurred ...

Sometimes when the Teams client on Windows is started, it tells me the following: "An error has occurred. Restart the application" (my locale is not English, so it might be a different text for you) and shows only one button to continue which is labeled "Update now". Which does not match what the error message says.

Can you please tell us users what this really is about? Is it really an error, or do you want (to force) me to update the app? In either case, please send a coherent message: "It's an error -> restart", "We want you to…

  20. Better OneDrive for Business integration with local Sharepoint synching

Having enabled local synching of Sharepoint group folders with OneDrive for Business, it would be useful open the local copy instead of using the browser.
This apply to non managed files extensions (ie: .zip, .txt, .json, ...)
