Using Teams Offline
MULTIPLE USERS reporting offline needs:
---
Generally want to use Teams offline:
If I am offline it would be great to browse through Teams and Channels in case I have to lookup some informations.
Also viewing the latest notes in "Notes" on teams would be great.
It would be enough to have "Read only" - for the moment my Teams app does not even open when I am offline
Compared on my mobile - I can read all posts while I am offline.
---
Edit while offline:
just been using teams wiki to take and share notes in a meeting.…

Proofing tools (spell check, theasaurus, autocorrect)
One of the defining features of office down the years has been the proofing tools (i.e. Spell checker, theasaurus, autocorrect, grammar checker). I would love to see these come to Teams.
The way I envisage this working is as I'm typing a message the famous red/blue/green squigglies that we've all become familiar with should show up.
Most of all I'd like autocorrect (i.e. a spelling correction that I've used previously automatically gets applied as I type). Stretch goal for this, have a single set of autocorrects that work across all of Office 365, including the client apps.
Some people might…
460 votesHi everyone, the engineer working on this item has left the company and we’re working on replacing him. I wanted to give you that heads up because the work has paused, which extends our shipping date.
I really appreciate your patience as we work to get this back to actively worked on.

Open links to teams in Desktop App
SITUATION: When you receive a link to a Teams file or folder, or really anything in Teams, like a Planner task - it sends you to the sharepoint site, regardless of whether you have the Desktop App installed and even if it is open.
RESOLUTION: Make links to any Teams elements open directly in the Teams Desktop App
This will save so much time and frustration from people, and also make Teams seem like a more integrated solution for everyone.

Button in Outlook to start a chat from an email thread
I should be able to easily start a chat from an Outlook email thread.
193 votesI apologize, there had been come miscommunication with regards to this topic.
The good news is that this item has not been declined! It has actually been approved by the feature team and is now “On the Backlog”.
I’ll keep this thread updated as we move through the development.

Export chat history
Skype keeps chat history in Outlook which makes it convenient if chat needs to be shared and forwarded to someone else. Can a Teams private chat be shared similarly, such as via an export to PDF?

Edit badge logic in Taskbar Notifications
When a new chat has come in add a red taskbar notification like slack does. I depend on it to know when I have a message.
121 votesDue to the feedback I have created a new topic that targets the specific difficulty of the SysTray “red dot” not easily communicating presence or activity.
Please vote up the new topic if you support it. https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/34867705-teams-in-systray-does-not-distinguish-between-actiMost responses called out the wish to have a notification in the system tray and it looks like that is something we already have.
If you get a message a red dot appears on the system tray icon and mousing over the icon provides a pop-up message stating “Microsoft Teams – New Activity” .
Thanks,

Microsoft Teams Windows Firewall pop up
Issue : Microsoft Teams client is showing prompt “Windows Firewall has blocked some features of this app” even after adding Windows Firewall Rules. Issue is explained in the article https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/get-clients but no resolution.

Windows 10 My People/People bar integration
Teams integration for direct personal messaging into Windows 10 "My People" People bar would be awesome.
116 votesThe feature team is still discussing this suggestion. No decision has been made yet, but I’ll keep you posted.

Deploy Microsoft Teams over the network using GPO
Deploy Teams over the network to GPO setting that will launch the application only in the background mode.

Take screenshot on desktop app
One should be able to take screenshot and share in conversation thread without leaving Microsoft Teams app.
96 votesWhether you are using PC or MAC you can already take a screen shot.
With PC the shortcut for a selected capture area is: SHIFT+WINDOWS_Key+S
(this will allow you to select an area and capture it as an image to the clipboard.)
With PC the shortcut for a entire desktop screen capture is the PRINT SCREEN button on your keyboard. With MAC the shortcut for a selected capture area is: COMMAND+SHIFT+4
(this will allow you to select an area and capture it as an image to the clipboard.)
With MAC the shortcut for an entire desktop screen capture is: COMMAND+CTRL+SHIFT+3This should meet your needs. If you feel it does not, please provide a summary in the comments as to your use case and why the OS capture tools are insufficient for your needs.
Thank you!

Integrate the client login with Office 365
Integrate the client login with Office 365, similar to the integration of OneNote, Word, and Excel. This utilizes the current login information instead of prompting the user for credentials each time the client is started.
94 votesThis request is now under review by the feature team.
Thank you for the suggestions!

Windows app should stay minimized to system tray
The Windows app keeps appearing as an active app in my app bar, even after I've closed the app so it is only in the Windows system tray.
Apparently receiving a notification causes the app to jump from the system tray to the app bar - and that shouldn't happen.
93 votesThis feature request has been declined.
Currently if you have the Teams app set to run in the background upon clicking the “X” in the upper right, the app stays active only in the system tray. If you receive chat messages, it still remains in the SysTray.
However, if you get an @mention, the focus pulls it to the Taskbar. This is by design since you are getting directly mentioned and some action is typically expected. This is a key design element which the team does not wish to deviate from.
We appreciate the suggestion but will respectively decline it at this time.
Thank you for the feedback and suggestion.

Tab key in Excel Online within Teams selects Teams Back Button
When I have the Desktop version of Teams open and I edit an Excel doc within Teams (using Excel online), the tab key selects the Teams back button (the top-left UI element) rather than sending the tab to excel online. Tab is such a commonly used key within excel (e.g. add a new line to a table) that this issue makes excel a frustrating experience.

"all monitors" desktop sharing option like Skype client
"All monitors" desktop sharing option missing from Teams
Desktop sharing in Teams includes sharing 1 monitor OR sharing 1 app... in Skype for business client there is also sharing "All Monitors". When used, a presenter with two monitors will present a view showing both monitors in one window. The viewer can see both of the presenters screens in the one window. They can view this on one monitor or stretch this window across two monitors to make it much bigger and easier to see.

In status option like Skype for business we can't change the status idle time

2. change the status from inactive to away after this many minutes
3. status has been changed from available to away in few minutes itself

Copy entire message information
Please allow full message detail copying. For complete incident work within Teams, you should be able to copy the poster, date/time, and the message all into copy.

Improve the Mac App
- Can't find it in Mac App Store
- Weird first run experience (very un-Maclike)
- Didn't know which monitor it was on (had windows on both)
- Ignored system level text replacements when trying to log in (I have a shortcut for my fairly long email address)
- Non-standard UI, and not in a good "I hope this takes off" way
- Non-standard emojis automatically used when you type keyboard ones (e.g. ;) is turned into a horrible animated winking face that looks like it is leering at me... but it also lets you insert system native ones alongside…52 votes -
Go native for Desktop
Please, for the love of sweet candy, go native on Desktop platforms.
I'm looking for an alternative for Slack as it uses electron which sucks every last bit of RAM it possibly can before destroying your computer in a sweet sweet fire. After seeing the wonderful performance of Office I was really hoping this would be native!
Please, someone with the development experience and financial backing of Microsoft must be able to accomplish this in your sleep. Surely?

Teams in SysTray does not distinguish between Activity & Presence
Whether you are in a meeting or got a message, in both cases you get a RED DOT. This is not clear or very helpful.
