  1. Expand emojis to reflect the diversity of ethnicity, gender, sexuality and disability of your user base

Emoji set is limited and almost exclusively white and male. This doesn't reflect the make up of most modern workplaces and certainly doesn't reflect the make up of your global user base.

Thank you for your feedback! We are excited to announce that we have rolled out a new set of over 800 emojis to our Desktop and Web platforms, with plans to release on Mobile in the coming months. This update includes 6 skin tone options, different genders for applicable emojis as well as emojis featuring people with disabilities. You can also add native OS emojis using “Win +.” shortcut in Windows and “Cmd + Ctrl + Space” in MacOS.

  4. Provide a way for an individual to minimize animated GIF display for their local teams client.

Animated gifs can be very distracting visual noise and obscure the more important content in a team conversation. Allow an individual to opt out of viewing animated GIFS and automatically minimize them.

  5. Allow the hiding of embedded images, animated gifs, videos - like Slack does

Users can paste/embed large, wild, distracting images, animated gifs, videos, etc, into the conversation window. That is fine, but recipients and senders should be able to later HIDE those, because they're ever-present and very distracting--until the conversation progresses long enough that the distracting images get scrolled out of view.

Slack allows these to be hidden and it's a very nice feature.
