  1. Allow Breakout Sub Conferences in Teams Audio Conferencing

Often both IT and the Business hold large audio conferences for crisis calls. It would be great if Microsoft Audio Conferencing could allow the audio conference host to create break outs within their main audio conference.

West, Avaya, Cisco etc. have this capability and it prevents Microsoft Teams Audio Conferencing from growing in the enterprise.

    Example:
    1. 100 people are on an active audio conference.
    2. The meeting host says "Those who need to talk about specific issue ‘A’ please press #1 to be taken to a break out conference".
    3. Any audio conference participants in the main call who…

  2. Global Win+F4 keybind for mute/unmute like Skype/Lync

    General (any window)
Use the following keyboard shortcuts no matter which window has the focus.

    Press this key or
    keyboard shortcut: Windows logo key+F4
    To do this: Self-mute/unmute audio.

  3. Receive inbound calls in Teams via Calling Plan

Currently, it appears that Teams ignores PSTN calls except if outbound, sending calls directly to voicemail unless Skype is open. In order to migrate our organization to Teams, we need to have PSTN calling fully operational in Teams.

  4. Allow the use of existing USB handset like Polycom CX300

Would love to be able use our existing investment in devices like the Polycom CX300 USB handset with Teams. I can understand why LPE devices won't be supported, but would like to see simple USB phones supported with the client.

  5. Show Number Normalization like in Skype for Business

Presently there is no feedback to the user when using to Dial pad or /Call that the number is being normalized. Unlike in Skype 4 Business when you dial an extension number (and this gets normalized) there is no indication to the user that they are dialing a valid number before they press call

In this example I'm using 4 digit extensions and I have a normalization rule to translate 5xxx to a full number. Pressing Call will normalize and call the number, but there is no preview of the number, No reverse contact lookup etc

  6. It would be good a way to pin a user as maximized on video call

When in a conference call, currently is not possible to pin the video to be maximized allowing to focus just in one person.

  8. Basic reports and call lists for queues and AA

Teams needs an overview, reports, log about the usage of call queues with some basic features like number of calls answered, missed, average waiting time.
Also a list of answered and missed calls.

I have some small businesses who use or want to use Teams as their primary phone system and need AA/Call Queues for some very basic form of "customer service line" (although that term might overstate what they need) and they want to see missed calls so they can return the call.

  9. Enable Recording of PSTN Calls

This option should be built-in, yet I haven't seen it in SfB or Teams. In many states in the US, call recording requires single-party consent. In other words, (where I live) if I'm on a call and want to record the call for my own purposes, I am legally allowed to do so without notifying the other parties on the line.

I would like to be able to do this and it would be extremely useful to have built-in, along with a checkbox to auto-record all calls. For my organization's purposes, it would allow us to review how calls team…

  10. Call my phone

Have the audio conferencing call my desk phone instead of having to call into a phone number and use a pin. Much better when not using a headset.

  11. Video when minimized

If you minimize the client in a video conference, it would be great if it would bring up a small video window on top... similar to what Skype For Business when it is minimized and you are in a video call.

  12. Caller ID for outgoing Calls

When you call someone using Teams as your Phone system, the caller ID on the receiving end only shows a phone number and location. It should be possible to tag the company name to the number for Caller ID purposes.

  13. Join a video meeting without incoming video to save bandwidth

When participating a meeting, I don't have an option to save bandwidth by shutting down incoming video. [You can close the outgoing video, though]. In situations like attending a meeting abroad through mobile data connection, the video consumes 100's of MB's for a 10-minute meeting. (compared to plain audio, which would be only probably approx 1MB/minute). Or in other cases where you want to save bandwidth and video doesn't come through with good quality (like when working over vpn with a big latency)

Skype for Business had an option to join a meeting with audio only.

  14. Allow microphone gain to be set by user

During quiet times the app auto gains the call and this cannot be overridden. Under the old desktop Skype you could set the microphone gain to the desired level and turn off AGC. This option should be available

  15. Meet now Video button

In a Channel, when you click on the Meet Now video button and then click on "Meet Now", the camera is automatically turned on. Please set this to disable so the camera is not automatically turned on, people may not want to start a video call and may just want to do a Screen share.

we have this!  ·  Suphatra responded

When you click the “Meet Now” button in a channel, you can click the little “Off” or “On” that appears in the window next to the word “Video”, and this will either enable or disable video before the call starts.

Please note we currently allow screensharing only when the video is enabled. If you would like to be able to screenshare without a video, please vote here: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/16936774-enable-screen-sharing-without-video-call

  16. Meet Now Without Video. Video On/Off User Setting.

In a conversation or team channel, you cannot "Meet Now" with video defaulted to OFF. If you set it for yourself, yours will not be started. But ANY other person that joins the conversation meeting will have their video turned on without an option to join without it on. This discourages team members from joining calls as they don't want to share video. You should also have a user setting to enable or disable video by default so they don't have to choose to disable video each time they join a meeting. Thanks!

  17. Answer incoming calls automatically

This is a very convenient feature that is available in skype, it allows for setup of a kiosk station with minimal management effort.

    Features from skype.

    Answer incoming calls automatically
    * Start my video automatically when I am in a call

As it can be invasive, skype also has a feature to Allow calls from... Anyone/people on my Contact list only

As we dont have a contact list in Teams I would suggest that the feature could/would be scoped to Favorites

  18. Voicemail for Teams Calling & Call Queues

We have some Auto Attendant and Call Queues set up, when the time is 'out of hours' and a call comes in or if all users are busy and unable to answer a call it should go to voicemail posting the message transcript and audio file in the Team / group linked to the call queue.

  19. Incoming call popup is does not display over other open windows

When Teams is minimized to activity tray (lower right) the popup for an incoming call will place itself behind other windows I have open such as browsers etc.

  20. Extension Dialing

Dailing by extension is a behavior that our customers and staff are very accustomed to. I expect most customers who are coming from other phone systems, ie. Nortel, RingCentral, and others are used to providing their extension to outside parties to call in to them rather than a bunch of random DID numbers. The July 2018 roadmap indicates that extension calling is available now (https://skypeandteams.blob.core.windows.net/artefacts/Skype%20for%20Business%20to%20Teams%20Capabilities%20Roadmap.pdf) but this is not the case. At least not for external callers calling into an auto attendant.
