  1. Make "Teams" and "Chat" the same Tab

There is no reason that Teams and Chat should be different top level categories in the left navigation. They are the same thing, perform exactly the same function, and making two different items simply confuses the navigation and makes badge notifications and discoverability much more difficult to use.

Please combine Chats into the Teams tab so that you can browse all conversations in one place rather than needing to navigate to different tabs to see different conversations.

Chats and channels perform essentially the same function, which is talk to some people and collaborate. Forcing the user to check two different…

This feature is still being reviewed by the feature team. No decision has been made yet. I’ll keep you posted.

  2. Advance Whiteboard Features

Advance whiteboard features would add massive value to remote teams like icon & photo finder, wireframes templates, idea voting, web page capture or via URL, prebuilt templates (eg.Strategy, Agile, ideation, mind maps, sixsigma tools...)... A good inspiration can be found in Realtimeboard or Mural.

  3. Quicker way to find contact and start conversation

Starting new conversation with colleague via teams (4-6 seconds, 7+ steps):
    1. Mouse click on pinned MS Teams on taskbar
    2. Wait for 1-2 seconds for MS Teams window to open
    3. Mouse click on "Search"
    4. Enter contact name
    5. Mouse click or down+enter to open chat
    6. Mouse click/focus message field
    7.Type + enter, message sent

Compared to Skype for business (1-3 seconds, 4 steps):
    1. Double click on taskbar Skype icon - window opens instantly
    2. Start typing contact name ("Search" is focused automatically)
    3. Press enter (first match chat window is opened, message field is focused) …

  4. Chat heads

Can you make a chat head feature like what we have in Facebook? It would be easier to go back and forth with your chat messages while you are doing something on other areas of MS teams (i.e. channels).

  5. Can we have an option to get rid of the Store icon in Teams?

Yeah, I get it, Microsoft wants to sell ****.

In a corporate environment, though, I can't actually buy anything. Nor do I want anything except a collaboration app that isn't a pain **********. So the icon is just more clutter in what I feel is an already-cluttered interface.

(I'm sure there are free apps in the store; I just don't care.)

  6. Add more area to grip the title bar

The new ui changes make it very hard to move the desktop app around the screen. There are too many buttons on the title bar now and it seems the only grip point is between the search bar and the org link. It is very easy to miss click when trying to move the window around your desktop. I think that the search box should be reduced to add more title bar.

  7. I should be able to submit an attachment by hitting enter.

Right now, "enter/return" deletes the attachment. I have to click on the submit arrow. I actually want to just drag and drop an image and have it upload to the chat, no confirmation necessary. If i have to confirm, I should at least be able to hit enter to send.

  8. Move status change up in the UI hierarchy (to single-click position)

I change status frequently in this and other chat apps. Most others allow for a one- or two-click path (or on Macs, add it to the Touch Bar), while Teams has a minimum of three clicks.
