  1. Teams startup in system tray only

Please create an option for Teams to startup in the system tray only. I can get more people to use it that way! I really like this app so far!

  2. Cannot cancel post edit

After selecting "Edit" on a post you cannot cancel the edit even after quitting the app. (There's no "Cancel" option and "Esc" doesn't do anything.) You have to "Send" the non-edited post, which then shows the post as "Edited" even though it wasn't.

  3. Ability to add (copy/paste) a list of people to meeting

In outlook I'm able to copy-paste meeting participants from one meeting to another. In Teams I have to add them all manually. It's not convenient, could you please fix it somehow?

  4. Allow user to choose the order of posts from oldest to newest or newest to oldest

The user should have the choice of how the posts are ordered. I always work with the most recent message or post at the top and find that not being able to do this in Teams extremely annoying.

  6. Too much white space in UI and not enough message density

There is far too much graphical 'white space' between messages in teams. It is not serving any value and is wasteful. For example move the 'Reply' button to the right of the message rather than below, the Reply button being below every message wastes valuable vertical space. On top of this there is a 'gap' or border and moat between each message. Compare to mIRC, Slack or other chat clients one can review much more messages and read more seamlessly without having to scroll as often. In other words, make it more chat client'y and less email client'y.

  7. Multiple accounts on desktop app

Tems should have the option "add account" on desktop app. We need to have multiple accounts without loggin out.

  8. customizable toolbar

Toolbar should be customizable or adjustable. I'd like to have access to other installed apps on toolbar without having to resort to clicking on ellipse.

Placement of ellipse should be adjustable (top of apps, bottom of apps, top of toolbar, bottom of toolbar, above "Store", below "Feedback"). It would probably be best if this was just a draggable item.

  9. Smaller font in chat window

Please can we optionally set a smaller - preferably desktop - font? The primary purpose of the computer is WORK, not chat!

  10. Monospaced Font

Since Microsoft has decided to lock the user out of selecting fonts, why isn't the default font monospaced? Copying in data which relies on its formatting to be readable is horrible in MS Teams.
E.g. Data from SQL queries, in any application which has (or allows) mono spaced font, the tables are perfectly readable, in Teams, they're a complete mess.

  11. Ability to add links to files/attachments to calendar items

Could there be an option to have a button to add a link or to attach a file to a calendar meeting? Yes you can manually add a link to the body but a simple button option would be great if the file is stored in Files, OneDrive or SharePoint.

  12. mutli teams window

There has been talk of the ability to have multi window functionality. being able to have multiple teams chat windows open will help espeically when you are locked into a single screen share and then have to repeatedly navigate to the chat bar to have side conversations and click back in. currently very ineffeicient.

  14. Add an option to collapse the sidebar to get a full page view of the chat window

Add a way to collapse and expand the user list on the side to focus on one conversation (or any ui settings beyond themes)

  15. Tabs appearance customization

Tabs are of great help when it comes to productivity enhancement. We can already change a tabs name, but it would be awesome to be able to further customize them (font color, back color) or, even better, to display small icons matching the corresponding program (PDF, PPT, OneNote, etc.). This way, it would be easier to work with many tabs and have a quick overview of what has been pinned in a given channel. Thanks in advance!

Simple workaround in the meantime: I personally use special characters in front of the name of the tab. For instance:
    ⎙This doc
    ⎙That…

  17. Hierarchical settings

I have stressed the importance of settings in a number of other threads. I would like to make the case for a hierarchical settings system.

There are a number of settings which are UI/UX related which must have a global default setting. Examples include fonts, colors, locale, layout, notification settings, markup enable, etc.

This global default gets applied to any new channels (chats, teams, apps, users, etc.) which are created, but each also gets a set of local settings. These may optionally override the default global settings.

It must be possible to override the default setting with the same setting…

  18. Make file links from teams/sharepoint a tiny URL with preview.

When attaching a link to a file withing the team, add a link either with a preview or less of an eyesore. This is just for better usability.

  19. support a more "dense" layout

There is lots of whitespace (at least in the browser app) leading to lots of scrolling. Would be nice if there would be a more compressed layout
