  1. Allow more than one inline code in one message

`something` something `darkside`; only the first will be displayed as code

  2. Theme - giving headaches

Please help create more themes, these colors are giving me a headache. Skype is much cleaner and modern.

  3. Add ability to separate call/meeting into new window

If all our team communications are in the same app as our Wiki and Notes, we really need to be able to have calls and meetings pop out in a separate window so that we can keep the call visible (e.g. full-screen on a secondary monitor) while still accessing our notes and conversations.

  4. Chat messages must show up in Activity > feed

I typically have the "Activity" tab open so I can quickly glance at the barrage of messages exchanged throughout the workday, and peruse the ones that I want in detail by clicking on a message in the Feed. However, chats do not show up in this feed, requiring me to go over to the "Chat" tab instead. It would be nice for all messages to show up in Activity/Feed.

  7. Efficiency: Focus in text fields and Keyboard Shortcuts

It is highly inefficient if i want to initiate a chat with a co worker.
What i have to do is:
    1. Click in Search
    2. Type name
    3. Use Down Arrow (to Skip Search for ***) even if the Result matches
    4. Click Or Enter to Select the user
    5. Focus as of now remains in the Search
    6. Click on Chat Text box to get focus.
    Type.

All of this is required to do just one thing, Initiate a chat with a co-worker.

Slack has this tackled very very effectively
Ctrl + F and you can trigger a…

  8. "Sticky" one liner on top of channels, used for members out of office, latest build numbers, etc

Customizable one liner on top of channels. This will help team members know who's out of office (unavailable) and/or latest build being released. Or, pizza in the conference room :)

  9. Task List

I am interested in various views within a "Task List" that is within a Team & Channel. The current layout is nice, however as more tasks are added, each task takes up a fair amount of screen real estate and you have to scroll up and down or left and right quite a bit to see all of the buckets and associated tasks.

Maybe an additional view similar to an 'outline view' where each main header is a 'Bucket' and the subitems under each bucket are the 'Tasks'?

    Keep up the great work!

  11. Separate Individual chats from Meeting chats

One of the biggest issues I have with Teams is individual chats getting lost among the meeting chats. Many of the meetings are things we get pulled into that I don't care about to start with. Manually having to hide 5-10 of these a day is tedious. When I'm on the Chat tab, I'd like to see individual chats. When I'm on the Meetings tab, I would expect to see Meeting chats. If nothing else, maybe a dropdown filter to choose which chats to show on the Chat tab would suffice.

  12. Team grouping organization

As we migrate all our regions and offices to Teams, we have started to realize that being able to identify Team's purpose adds some level of complexity.

We are proposing to add to the UI a way to create "Groups" and not related Teams under its correspondent group.

Just like we have Favorites, there would be other headings we can give names and move teams underneath of them.

We believe this will avoid confusion, for both experienced users and novice users.

  13. Improve UI for threaded conversations

I think that the threaded conversation view has a fundamental UI problem.

At present, the text control at the bottom of the view will start a new conversation, and replying to an existing conversation requires a specific action.

We have been trained by pretty much every other chat program in the world that the box at the bottom of the screen is for typing a reply to the current conversation. To change this behavior requires Teams users to un-learn a common behavior and re-learn it just for this program.

Users spend most of their time using other programs. Conforming to…

  14. Log out & Quit buttons

Guys, whole world (including your apps like Skype or Skype for Business) has Quit/Exit/Close button on the bottom of context menu, with Team I always end up with logging out instead of closing application. Very simple to change, very annoying if not changed.

  15. Promote Checklist Item UI in Planner needs better feedback and Undo

When you click the promote button on a checklist item in Planner, the item disappears with no indication of what happened. I've had users complain that items are being deleted.

The item was properly promoted to its own task, but the UI does not give the user any indication of what happened.

I've tested this on the OWA/Browser version of Planner and the Windows desktop version of Planner.

Perhaps a fading message could be added. Or perhaps the checklist item could be left in the list for a moment, with a message about what happened and undo and dismiss buttons.

  16. CSS Themes

Something that has not often been Microsoft's strong suit is a bit of a killer when it comes to teams:

Please enable custom stylesheets for scripting the user interface layout. I'm unsure what UI engine Teams is built on but having the ability to create themes via CSS stylesheets would be a huge win.

    A successful solution would have:

    > A class reference for the UI elements on Teams
    > Full CSS3 support
    > Ability to Save/Import/Export and Share themes

  17. more typing less clicking

every function should have a keyboard shortcut and/or command trigger that can be typed. please don't make me click!

one of the main strengths of competitive tools (like slack) is the ability to do everything without ever taking your hands off the keyboard.

one example is giphy integration. i like that i can search for images - instead of just being surprised with something... but i don't want to stop typing to click, then resume typing to search, then stop typing to click an image, then resume typing to complete my message

  18. Cannot cancel post edit

After selecting "Edit" on a post you cannot cancel the edit even after quitting the app. (There's no "Cancel" option and "Esc" doesn't do anything.) You have to "Send" the non-edited post, which then shows the post as "Edited" even though it wasn't.

  19. Add a shortkey to jump to unread messages

Slack has the all-round shortkey Ctrl+K, which allows me to jump to any chat (group/channel/person). It automatically lists channels/chats with unread messages at the top. So jumping through unread chats is just 2 clicks each, without using the mouse. I'd love to have the same feature in Teams!

  20. Don't Close Call when Teams window Closed

This happens to me about 5 times a day. Literally. I'm chatting to someone and they close the window to find another one and the call ends.

In Skype, closing the Window doesn't end the call.

On iOS, closing the Window doesn't end the call.

Why does it end the call on Windows?
