Allow Assigning a Teams Meeting to a Channel After it's Already Been Scheduled
Sometimes when I use the Teams calendar to schedule a meeting I forget to assign it to the Team Channel I want the meeting to be under. The meeting is scheduled and all the participants receive the invite. Then I realize I forgot the channel assignment, go in to edit the meeting and the channel selection is no longer there. The only option is to cancel the meeting and schedule a new one. For the participants, that means an email cancelling the meeting, which is confusing, an email with the new meeting requiring them to respond again, and a separate email from me explaining what happened, apologizing for it, and assuring them the meeting is not cancelled.
Could you simply add the option to assign a current Teams meeting to a channel in the Edit option? Perhaps the link that participants originally received gets a redirect assignment in the background to the proper place, so when they use the original meeting link it goes to the right place.
