Allow the File tab in a Teams channel to be removed and renamed
Because Sharepoint and Teams both act as a digital workplace for collaboration, file sharing and storage, it would be extremely beneficial to bridge the two products. Many companies, including ours, have a disconnect of how the Files in a Teams channel is siloed from a corporateSPO Document library. This creates confusion for workers when deciding where to store and share files.
If we have the ability to add an SPO document library into a Teams channel, we should also have the ability to decide if the default channel File tab is needed or not. This disconnect is a rather large hurdle when training staff on how to appropriately use Teams vs Sharepoint when utilizing company files.
Allowing customers to rename/delete the default channel File tab will truly bridge this gap and create a seamless experience.
Please consider! Many users land onto this tab and fail to see the other tabs available to them. Even creating an option to make one of the other tabs a "default" so that no landing occurs on Posts or Files.
Fully support this. Additionally it would be also great (as already mentioned in other replies) to link the file tab to a folder in a SharePoint library.
Please consider this!
Also, consider the possibility to give us the option to change the "File" Libary Main Folder.
Thank you very much

Please reconsider this. The "Files" tab does not actually take the user to the O365 Group's files, it takes them to the 'general' subfolder, which is filled with screenshot references and memes from the day's conversations. It's misleading extremely difficult for users to find where they actually need to put files for the group.
Please consider this. We are considering migrating away from Slack and this would make the decision easier. More customization is a good thing.
