Prepare meeting breakout rooms
As a creator of a meeting I want to prepare my breakout rooms before the meeting gets started. So i already assigned people to rooms before the meeting is going to start.
When the meeting is in progress i Only need to open the rooms.
Next to that you want to send documents directly from the main room to the breakout rooms
Thank you for your feedback! The team is currently working on introducing the capability for the meeting organizer to perform breakout room configurations and participant assignments before the meeting starts. We will share an update as soon as one is available.
To track this feature on our Public Roadmap, please visit https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?searchterms=81390.
I would like to organize my breakout rooms before the meeting starts!
Alex, can i add a little extra to the above request, which is great thank you Paul. Can this function be delegated. Thank in advance, Martin

Will be a good help for the meeting preparation. Please make it happen.
Looking forward to this release!
@Alex this is a feature that has been asked for a few times. We are two teams merged, and we like to divide the people evenly over the rooms, that is a hassle at the moment in TEAMS

I really hope we get this feature soon! It would be very helpful for meeting organizers.
That would be a great feature! Please make it possible.
I agree, would be a great feature to have.

It would be greatly beneficial to be able to create breakout rooms in advance of the meeting, to be able to assign invitees to breakout rooms in advance as well as adding files to breakout rooms prior to the meeting starting. It would also be beneficial if the participants can call you into the rooms when they need something and also allowing the participants and organizers access to the chats when the rooms are closed. Pairing these features with allowing the meeting organizer to assign additional presenters to have control over breakout rooms and to be able to move in between breakout rooms would make them actually functional within my department.

A must for organized teacher - no time to waste while you teach
It would be a great feature to have it.
You can prepare meeting rooms in advance even though it is a bit tricky.
See to it that you start the meeting in advance (the day before..)
Log in with at least two users (I have several accounts and invite one to the meeting as guest)
Once you are two users in the meeting you are able to set up the break-out rooms, as many as you want up to 50.
Having done that, assign your guest account to Room 1 and then open it.
Right click on the green open sign and chose to enter the room (with your other ID, the one that has arranged the meeting.)
Once entered, bring up the chat funktion of Room 1 and post whatever file you want to have prepared and ready before the meeting.
(what also happens when you open the chat function it gets visible in Teams Chat function (the icon in the left column of this specific Team site. Here you can easily jump between the different chats for say Room 1, Room 2 and Room 3 if you have repeated the steps above firstly for each room.
If you have the same file that you want to place in the three different room I guess it is necessary to give them slightly different names.
Thats it - doing it right now for my education class tomorrow for 15 persons :)
Yes, one more thing - you cannot assign all the attendees that are invited to rooms in advance, this you have to do live in the meeting when everybody has joined.
It would be nice to set rooms with specific people before the meeting - not in the meeting. Thank you.
Please make it possible to create breakout rooms before the meeting gets started. This would be very helpful and less stressfull during the meeting. !!!

Can't believe we're still waiting for this - come on Microsoft - this is a no brainer surely!
I only use Teams because Zoom is not allowed with my middle and high schoolers. The process for creating the break out rooms is VERY clunky and takes up so much time. It would be great to be able to program them in advance like I can on Zoom for my university class. The idea is nice on Teams, but logistically Teams has made it so complicated to create the rooms and adding students one by one as they arrive in class is so complicated and tedious that I have given up on doing so. It's too bad because it's an integral part of my class at the university level thanks to Zoom making it so easy!
I am still amazed that this issue has not been addresses yet. When setting up the meeting through a Team, the list of attendees already exists. We should be able to use the list of those on the Team, or even those invited, to create breakout room for specific people in advance. It is a terrible waste of time to do this during a meeting, or even more annoying to set up separate meetings for those that the facilitator wants to work together.

This would be really useful especially if participants could select a room to join for themselves. I think of a conference with 150 participants (too many to manage individually). Just like a live conference, I would like to have a number of breakout rooms devoted to different topics or issues. Meeting participants should be able to see a list of the rooms available and select which one they would like to join. When I close the breakout rooms, all participants would be put in the main room for the plenary discussions,
