multiple admins for breakout rooms
in situations where more than 1 person is managing/admining a meeting the meeting organizer should be able to "promote" participants to meeting admin to manage Breakout Rooms
Thank you for your feedback! We are happy to announce that capability to allow specific presenters to manage breakout rooms is now available to users who have opted into Public Preview.

We look forward to your preview feedback!

Today I'm using the Public Preview to use the multiple admins for breakout rooms. This is definitely much better than the previous state of breakout rooms, but I don't believe the usage requirement is fully understood by Microsoft. What we really need is the ability for multiple admins to manage breakout rooms at the same time. In the current implementation, multiple people can have the right to manage breakout rooms, but only one person can do it at a time.
Here is the problem scenario. When delivering a class, we have one person managing the technical side of the meeting (often called a producer). This allows the class instructor to focus on the class and not administering the technology. When it's time for a class exercise, the producer creates the breakout rooms and sends the participants into the breakout rooms. But the instructor wants to visit and move around breakout rooms.
In the previous implementation of MS Teams, that was impossible. In the public preview, this is possible, but the instructor needs to pull manage away from the producer and then later the producer has to pull manage away from the instructor.
Also, sometimes in a training class, we might have two instructors, and both instructors want to be able to move around breakout rooms at the same time. I hope this helps you better understand the need. Happy to discuss it with you.
when is this available for standard users who doesn't use public preview?
Public preview is only offered on a "per-user" basis. This is not helpful, as it needs to be something more broadly available to admins especially! If you can make this on a per person basis, why can't it also be available universally for admins or delegates to be assigned this capability?
Public Preview is only available on a per-user basis, and you have to get specific permission. This is NOT helpful. Though it's a step in the right direction. We need it to be universally open for others to be designated for managing the breakout rooms. Please expand this!
Co-organizer is very important. We would like to start a meeting without the person who create the meeting, and we would like it will be possible to the co-organizer create some groups on the conversation
Co-organizer must be activated before the meeting
This is a must. Please can you guys make this happen? I organise meetings for others and have to attend to run the break out sessions even when its not my meeting. It's a real pain and causes lots of issues.
I'm sure there are great reasons from a development standpoint for the delay on this, but this is a huge issue impacting key meetings all across the enterprise world, many of which include the executives that make technology purchasing decisions. When basic stuff like this is missing, they start asking questions about other solutions. Please bump this one up on the priority list.
When is this coming? It's absolute basic functionality and deeply frustrating that it STILL isn't here. Many meetings are organised by someone other than the presenter; many presenters/facilitators work in pairs/teams on big events; presenters sometimes have to be replaced at last minute or step away from a meeting due to an emergency. Zoom has had co-host options since forever - why can't Teams offer the same?
Please cant this be progressed, its an absolute nightmare not having this function. We are unable to allow multiple facilitators of group activities to move between breakout groups it's so annoying I want to cry
This should have been in the minimum functionality category...

We just purchased Zoom to host a meeting because of the limitations with Microsoft Teams and not allowing a co-host to manage breakout rooms.
Hopefully this is on public preview soon, as i want to cancel my Zoom subscription ASAP.

Any news on this topic. Perhaps an estimate on when could it be released?

Any progress with this? What month is planned?

Any progress with this?
Need this for nearly every meeting 5 days a week
This is an absolutely VITAL development for Teams, please launch ASAP.
Extremely important. We have administrators set up meetings for academics; the organiser may not even be present in the meeting.

Any update on it? We do virtual class training with two instructors within Ericsson ///, so the possibility for each instructor to be organizer and also make break out rooms to talk to the students seperatly is really crucial!
Absolutely and totally need to be able to assign any one of the owners in the TEAM with breakout room rights please.
Very important! Often the meeting organizer is not the person who manages the break out rooms..
