Teams pop-up notifications no longer display on top of (fullscreen) applications
Since a recent change in Teams notifications no longer display on top when working in fullscreen mode. Most collegues work with a Remote Desktop client. Teams they run in the background on their local machine.
When you would receive a message or a call Teams would pop-up a notification on top of the RD-client. Since a recent update this no longer happens. You have to minimize te RD-client and other applications that run on your local machine, because they all show on top of the Notification.
I think this is caused by an update where Teams notifications now are using the built in Windows 10 notifications framework. I can't find any setting to make notifications show on top when working in fullscreen mode.
Thank you for your patience. We are happy to share that this issue has been fixed with Windows desktop version 1.4.00.7174 and above.

There seem to be multiple preview builds which fix this (1.4.00.914, 1.4.00.4045), which have been around for a while. We've just been updated to 1.4.00.4167 and these fixes are not included...WHY?
Everyone in our company has this same issue. We use Teams exclusively for comms. both internally and externally with customers.
Getting a call notification "on top" is a mandatory and essential function, otherwise calls get missed, and that affects our business.
We have no choice but to look at other systems.
any update on resolving the notification for RDS full screen with local teams install?
The problem is that any different build you install seems to get replaced by Teams' auto-update service - I don't think that there is any way to prevent this?
We installed 1.4.00.914 and it works a treat, right up to the point Teams reverts to 1.4.00.2879 ;(

Please try this build which fixes it for me:
Hi there, is there any further updates on this? It seems the 1.4.00.914 version fixes this however the MSI installer for this can't be found anywhere.
It's a shame that newer versions of teams has broken the notifications functionality again and we are eagerly awaiting a permanent fix with MSI installer.

A lot of people in my organization are frustrated because they are missing calls and received messages way too often due to them not displaying above whatever they are working on.

I was about to roll out Teams companywide but this has now caused us all sorts of issues, need this fixed ASAP or the relationship with end users and Teams is going to be poor from the outset!

I also confirm that version 1.4.00.914 fixes this bug. Unfortunately the "Check for updates" option in TEAMS still deploys version 1.3.00.30866 to our government "G5" users.
Glad the team is working on it, but it is getting very urgent

Hi, I confirm that version 1.4.00.914 fixes this problem with full screen applications but unfortunately version 1.4.00.2595 no longer works
I have this problem too and I'm not even using any full-screen applications!

Teams would not update to the latest build Microsoft Teams Version 1.4.00.914 Even if you uninstall Teams and re-download from their website you still do not get this version Microsoft Teams Version 1.4.00.914. Thanks for the link. It allowed us to get the latest version. Very frustrating!
Version 1.4.00.914 solved this for me.
Sadly I did not get this Version via updater, but from Microsoft source

Same here - it's been like this for months. Very annoying. When I'm in a full screen Remote Desktop session, the notification is right at the very back of all the windows and I've got to minimize everything to get to it to answer the call.

The staff in my office are also finding this bug very annoying. I opened Case #:23791589, "TEAMS inbound calls notifications are behind other windows." and the Microsoft support person confirmed that TEAMS is not displaying the call notifications correctly.
We use "Remote Desktop Connection" to work remotely. From March to December the TEAMS inbound call notification was popping up ON TOP OF the other windows so it was possible to answer the calls. Since December it has become very difficult to answer calls because it's necessary to minimize all the windows to see the inbound call notification in the lower right corner. We have confirmed that the bug is affecting TEAMS versions 1.3.00.28779 and 1.3.00.30866.
The only workaround we have found is to 1) Minimize "Remote Desktop Connection" then 2) Press [Windows+M] to minimize all windows, then 3) Click the TEAMS answer call icon.
It would be very helpful to our office if this bug could be fixed ASAP.

I've got nothing new to add to this other than it is now mid Jan and it hasn't been reinstalled as a feature.
Major nuisance. I know to let it "ring" for ages for colleagues to fumble their way to connect with the call but i've missed calls myself by not being quick enough. We don't need this extra hassle to home working. Please reinstate
This issue has also affected us from early November. We use the Citrix Workspace application to run remote desktops full-screen, and Teams notifications stopped appearing in front of the Workspace application. Our users are missing Teams calls and other notifications.
The notifications were working fine until early November.
What is this, the year 2000? Sort this out. Teams roping people in and building them up just to swipe their legs out from under them. Standard microsoft product.
