Allow students to leave teams
As an active user of each Microsoft Office program, particularly Teams, it has come to my attention that certain aspects of the program are lacking. Improvements in certain areas will allow for an increase in user productivity and efficiency. Therefore, I have some corrections to offer a way to improve the company as a whole.
The first correction that needs to occur is students should be able to remove themselves from teams without a teacher's help. Many teachers leave their students in a class-specific team even after that class has ended for the year. Therefore, the student continues to receive messages about a course in which they no longer participate. Given the teacher's busy schedule with their new classes, the task of removing previous students never gets completed. To resolve this issue, students should have the option to remove themselves from a team to minimize their notifications. This change will also result in less work for teachers to have to manage with their past students.
Additionally, teachers should have the option to not include a due date on their assignments. To post an assignment, teachers must choose a deadline regardless of whether they have decided on when they want the assignment to be due or not. This results in teachers often choosing vague and/or inaccurate deadlines for their assignments. This inaccuracy causes students to often stress over and rush assignments because of a simple and solvable miscommunication. The teachers also receive an increase in confused students' messages regarding whether the due date they have posted is correct. To cut down on these miscommunications for both teachers and students, assignments that students work on both at home and school should be able to remain without a due date. Therefore, making the lives of all Teams users much less complicated.
I hope you take these suggestions positively and improve your services as soon as possible. With all these aspects put into play, a competing company could not compare in the market. I look forward to seeing and using the new changes made to Teams in these upcoming updates.
