Poor performance on Windows
The system takes a lot of the computer resources and slows down the overall performance of the pc
We are happy to share that Electron 10 is rolling out to the public ring now, so you should notice improvements. We expect overall performance of Teams to improve even further with upcoming fixes around the calling and meeting features We will share another update as soon as we are able to.

New to Teams and the Mac app, but this thing is pretty busted.
It's constantly saying "We ran into a problem. Reconnecting...." and asking me to refresh or log out (or close all browser windows ??? Real stable...)

Please fix this, really annoying!
This just wasted an hour of my life (and i still didn't get the info i need because the scroll back was reset somehow). I wanted to scroll back to a conversation a few months back. I found a piece of the chat through search which allowed to find the date i wanted to scroll back to. I wish there was a way to go back to a specific date. That would solve this for me.

Going back in time (scrolling up in a chat) is so dreadful. Each screenful of information you have to wait for it to appear. I could see waiting for images to download. But when the conversation is all text waiting is just perplexing and a terrible UX.

Teams is extremely inefficient, the application has a huge memory and CPU footprint for what it does. I can't understand how they could not get a simple chat feature right, scrolling back is a real struggle.

I agree this is the worst part of Team and makes me consider going back to using Slack. Also the app can be painfully slow at times when flipping between chat windows and team lists etc.

Addition to delay navigating between views, scrolling on chat or team loads the comments significantly slows (3-6 seconds). Also, if you scroll back to original position, messages that were loaded before are getting loaded again which is slow again.
Still very low count of votes (56) for such an important issue.
It's terribly slow everywhere. The entire Office 365 is 10x slower than G Suite. From OWA/Outlook, over Word & Excel, to MS Teams.

yes agree, switching between chat or team is too much slow considering desktop based software. learn from slack and see how great job they did.
I totally agree. It takes about 5-7 seconds for me switching between chats or teams; takes about 2 seconds for new comments to load. Also even if I keep the Teams window up and move on to a different application and try to come back to Teams and attempt to type up something - it takes about 2-3 seconds just for the cursor to appear in the text box. Very painful to use. Need to fix this ASAP

This really is the absolute worse thing about teams. I HATE THIS. I have contemplated making a screen scraper to make the threads and chats not so painful to browse through. Teams is the only program with chat capability I have ever had this issue with. Even msn messenger in the late 90s didn't have this problem. Mother of god please utilise cache, we don't all have gigabit internet connections like Microsofts seems to assume we do.

I did not notice this until we started to get some longer threads. When scrolling up, we'll see gray boxes instead of content. They load after a few seconds. Then when scrolling back down, the same thing happens back at the bottom of the thread... reloads after a few seconds.
Hi. Whenever i opening the teams it hardly take 1 to 2 mins to open my desktop application. After that when i try to switch between chats it took 1 minutes to move my cursor into the typing area. Also whenever i switch between channels it took more time.
Feel like irritating to use in my windows desktop application.
Please make sure faster application.

Scrolling back in time on a chat thread is painfully slow, and it seems the data isn't cached locally because when I try to scroll forward it is just as slow
Some local caching would be great to have... when you switch back and forth between two chats or groups, each switch fully re-loads the conversation. Why? I was literally looking at it 2 seconds ago. When new comments come into a chat you're not viewing, you're notified, but they don't appear to actually load into the UI until you click them. Why? Can't the changes be loaded in the conversation before I click so they're ready to go when I get to them?

The teams are very heavy.
I use an i5 8GB computer and even then it is very slow to switch between channels.
Also hangs constantly.
When we send the image, sometimes it does not appear ...
You will need to improve the teams a lot.

I agree, it takes several seconds to move between diffrent places.
The feeling is that the product have to make some heavy communication (like soap rather then json) in order to get data from where you going, rather then keeping and subscribing to the information from all available channels. It's not like we need to keep everything, the last 100line + 100line before and after whereever focus is on that tab. (files/images and older history can be loaded on demand).
I thought it was an undocumented feature promoting thoughtfulness in posting, allowing you 2-3 seconds before slamming down another response in another channel and giving you time to compose your thoughts for the next flame war. :)
