Poor performance on Windows
The system takes a lot of the computer resources and slows down the overall performance of the pc
Thank you for your feedback. Our performance team is working on improving the overall performance of the Windows client. We expect to see performance jumps in the latest version of Electron rolling out (Electron 10).
You're web app is way more responsive. The bar at the top saying to download the desktop app for an even faster experience is a complete crock at this point.
Once the web app has the call functionality (hopefully with screen sharing) I see no reason to even download the app.
I see the same behaviour. It is really bad!
Also, even if I do manage to get the app to actually set the availability status to what I want, it doesn't sync to other devices (e.g. setting on desktop is not reflected on mobile and vice versa), so it is impossible to know whether the backend system has actually picked up on the change or not...

As a test of the difference between <PgUp>, scrolling up, and holding <Ctrl> + <Home> I noticed that the farther back you go the longer the load time is as it loads from the bottom up if you're simply going off of the current thread. I managed to go far enough back that it took nearly a minute to load the section I was looking at which was pretty egregious.
It's mid April so I figured I'd ask for another update since we haven't seen one in a while.

On Windows 10, the Teams Client is slow and actually slows down the overall performance of my entire system. This is on a Surface Pro 3 iCore 7. The Slack client runs about twice as fast and does not affect the overall performance on my system
Teams is amazing, but it feels like the Teams Client needs to be 'fatter'. Changing between chat, activity, Teams seems to have some transitional jutter.
Preload the interfaces perhaps?

The teams app has become extremely slow lately. Everything takes time - starting a new chat, navigating to a channel, opening a tab etc.

Known issue, another duplicate for you admin :)
Your desktop version is too slow and consume a lot memory and drag my system
My team mates and I try to change our status regularly manually. It does not work 90% of the time.
When we select a status and try to make the change, the status stays the same.

Yeah, this performance is awful. Look at Slack or Discord or similar chat programs for an example of how this *should* work.
Takes like 3 seconds to switch from Chat to Activities, feels like molasses
Any update on this?

New to Teams and the Mac app, but this thing is pretty busted.
It's constantly saying "We ran into a problem. Reconnecting...." and asking me to refresh or log out (or close all browser windows ??? Real stable...)

Please fix this, really annoying!
This just wasted an hour of my life (and i still didn't get the info i need because the scroll back was reset somehow). I wanted to scroll back to a conversation a few months back. I found a piece of the chat through search which allowed to find the date i wanted to scroll back to. I wish there was a way to go back to a specific date. That would solve this for me.

Going back in time (scrolling up in a chat) is so dreadful. Each screenful of information you have to wait for it to appear. I could see waiting for images to download. But when the conversation is all text waiting is just perplexing and a terrible UX.

Teams is extremely inefficient, the application has a huge memory and CPU footprint for what it does. I can't understand how they could not get a simple chat feature right, scrolling back is a real struggle.

I agree this is the worst part of Team and makes me consider going back to using Slack. Also the app can be painfully slow at times when flipping between chat windows and team lists etc.

Addition to delay navigating between views, scrolling on chat or team loads the comments significantly slows (3-6 seconds). Also, if you scroll back to original position, messages that were loaded before are getting loaded again which is slow again.
Still very low count of votes (56) for such an important issue.
