Poor performance on Windows
The system takes a lot of the computer resources and slows down the overall performance of the pc
Thank you for your feedback. Our performance team is working on improving the overall performance of the Windows client. We expect to see performance jumps in the latest version of Electron rolling out (Electron 10).
I must use MS Teams for daily working as it's main tool using in my company.
Truly say, MS Teams is great as it has all features we need (chat, call, attach files, image,..).
But, it seem it was base on a bad platform or a bad algorithm, it cause my laptop to freeze all the time, even I close all other applications.
After narrow down all cases, I am sure MS Teams is the only cause of laptop bad performance.
I only can back to work right after close Teams, and some times, I must hard shutdown laptop to make it work.
Hey Microsoft, let listen to us, MS Teams idea is good, but it has bad experience, the big company like MS can do it good, let action.

Why do you not using Microsoft native framework and ability to make great app for Microsoft teams instead of using electron and have many bad experience on Microsoft built-in OS platform (Windows)

Ever since the latest update, Microsoft Teams is single-handedly slowing my ENTIRE computer down to a halt. This is a Windows 10 Pro, fully updated to latest MS updates, with i7 3.5GHz CPU and 16GB RAM, with a PCIe based SSD. This is EXTREMELY unacceptable, and I have to constantly reboot my PC to get a few hours of decent performance until MS Teams boggs it down again.
I know it is caused my MS Teams, since I have tested regular use of PC, then when I get slow-down, I simply quit all MS Teams processes, and my PC is back to normal. I have also tested closing every single app that I have open, and only leaving MS Teams running and my PC continues to run slow.
This sucks as I LOVE MS Teams and use it all day to communicate with my IT Team that I manage! Please do something!!

It is better working when used from chrome or Edge

I suggest for all of you using ms teams to not installing it, instead open teams using edge or chrome and set teams as app

Congratulations on resetting issue 17219609 that was open for 4 years and was one of the highest voted issues. With no work to resolve the issue the votes have now reset. This strategic fudging of the figures a marvellous strategy.
It seems like you can already download the latest exploration build which is currently on Electron 10.4.2 by downloading it from https://statics.teams.cdn.office.net/production-windows-x64/1.4.00.10309/Teams_windows_x64.exe.
I actually managed to grab this particular build from https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ItzLevvie/MicrosoftTeams-msinternal/master/defconfig, and the builds list is seemingly updated every day or so.
slow to search previous messages in the chat and high cpu usage while searching for the past maessages.

@Alex when is that electron 10 version starting to rollout?
Can you give us a bit more detail? Which version of Teams do you think will benefit from the planned performance increases?
I'm experiences multi-second delays (2-6 seconds) just to switch from tabs on the Nav bar (e.g. switch from Chat to Calendar, etc). This is very surprising that a MS app on Windows 10 has such a poor UI experience.

Problem started today - MS Teams occupying lot of memory & slowing down whole PC.

I am experiencing since End of Feb very bad performance. On my top spec Surface 3 (I7 CPU) I have on everage 60% CPU and 50-60% GPU usage in video calls.

I have to use many similar applications and now I have a meeting on Tuesday via Microsoft Teams. Decided to check this out and was very surprised - the loading of sharable applications pops up within 15-20 seconds. I have no idea when it actually responds to a click afterwards. In the meeting with me as only participant.
Hesus Mio, this is funny and sad at the same time.
Overall works slow as well.
I have no experience in creating such apps - will you hire me?
Always keep a phone to hand to show just how slow the UI is changing from chat to calendar for example. Take away the developer's high end PCs and let them suffer it on a 5 year old Celeron so that they get the full educational experience on a daily basis.
electron has been your problem since day 1. You’re hoping for a miracle coming from a 3rd party but it could as well go the other way around.

Electron 10? 12 is stable as we speak. Is Teams that far behind?

Anything based on Chromium is a massive resource hog. Remember when we used to complain about bloated MS frameworks? We were so innocent then. We had no idea how bad Google would make it.

Electron v10... You do realize they just rolled out v12, right? I miss the days of stable in-house foundation developers.
My Teams desktop (not web) app the messaging pane keeps telling me I need to refresh. I also face a continual issue where a gray bar goes across the top of the app and says "There's been a problem, trying to reconnect" . Once I restart Teams it works for a second but then does it again. I've been facing this issue since October or November and been through multiple helpdesk tickets, but to no avail.
Slow, resource hungry, and waaaaayyy bloated. With next to no options on how you want to enable/disable unused features.
Ohh, MS has known this for >3 years, and gotten >20000 votes about it, but it's just a 'to do' item.
