Poor performance on Windows
The system takes a lot of the computer resources and slows down the overall performance of the pc

Thank you for your feedback. Our performance team is working on improving the overall performance of the Windows client. We expect to see performance jumps in the latest version of Electron rolling out (Electron 10).

MacOS desktop app actually worked fine for me up until recently. Well, comparable to other versions (web/win) at least.
Now, for the last week or two, it is completely unusable. It works for a minute or so after a "cold" start or sign in, then goes into almost infinite "We ran into a problem. Reconnecting...".
It can clearly sometimes connect for a very brief moment, since some notifications/messages arrive, but it's like one second every minute (not actual measured values).
Please fix

I agree. The video feed lag is very apparent in the 30 seconds to 1 minute. This makes it impossible for Webinars and else.

Although I only use this mandatory app for work, I have to say it is VERY slow. I do not get notifications right away as you would on a cell phone.

Though wiki on a group is a good ideia, editing there feels slow and becomes anoying. After that i noticed the hole package feels slow, thats why teams for me is odd.

When are Microsoft actually going to make a product that's better than before?
This is terrible.
Staff refuse to use it because it is clunky and slow. They use the competitor whatsapp instead because it frees them to actually be more productive.
Notifications are slow.
Switching channels is slow.
Adding attachments is slow.
Live chatting is slow.
Launching the app is slow.
Finding staff to add to a team is slow.
Hmmmm.... There's a theme here.
Just like the 100s of pages of User Voice search results for the word 'slow'.... And you're going to kill Skype4B and drag them to this slow rubbish...?

Hey Microsoft devs, try using Whatsapp on your Websites client and see how fast it is!
That's what teams need to be like.
Our staff interact on collaborative documents over whatsapp because teams is sooooooo slow.
Adding an attachment is even worse. -

Beyond slow. May be switching my recommendation on Teams today.

I have noticed that trying to scroll back and find earlier messages is very slow. The scrolling happens quickly but it takes several seconds for the messages to be retrieved and shown on the screen. In fact, I have a chat session on my screen right now that has not updated at all when I scrolled back to see earlier messages.
This is a real problem on fast moving chat windows. Trying to see what people said earlier in the conversation is very difficult and takes more time than it should. I don't know if this is a problem with the client or the server API not being performant.

It's slow everywhere. In fact it seems MS has designed "slow" into every product released in the last few years. It's just an awful experience all around.

Any plans for a Desktop (I mean, really desktop, not a web app) version of Teams? I think that would make Teams much faster, like the OneNote desktop!! Swapping tabs back/forth with the current desktop version is really unproductive.

The native Mac client is very slow compared to either Slack or Hipchat when switching between channels or replying to a conversation.
Please improve the performance of the application.

It's too slow even to switch from one private conversation to another its cloggy if you chat alot with the same user it can even reach high lags, we are forced to clear the cache in our user files for it to become fast again.
Maybe add a clear cache button until its fixed?

Have performance issues as well, mainly when in a video call. If you try to open chat in video call, it takes a long time to open and moving/resizing the teams window is pretty unresponsive. I don't think it is my hardware either, I have new dell xps i7.

It is is just too slow :/

Lazy loading for chat history is implemented quite bad and without any local cache. It's quite challanging to search among older conversations.

When i load Teams, it takes a long time to load the app. Once the app has loaded switching between the wiki, chat, and other tabs is very slow. I think it would be great if the Teams team spent some time and resources just improving the overall experience for its users. Teams is an important part of the O365, so I think before you add any more features then take a few updates and clean up some of the mess. Let's make it more stable and speedy.

@MF is right. Switching between the 'Chat' to 'Teams' tabs is pitifully slow even on 13 month old hardware it's actually mad that this software isn't more optimized running on the flagship OS made by the same manufacturer of the software AKA MS.

They should hire people from VS Code team. Both VS Code and Teams are electron based apps but VS Code is so much more optimized...
