When recording a Teams meeting and using the spotlight feature will the recording of the meeting still show all attendees or focus the recording on the spotlighted video feed? For training and review purposes I would like the spotlighted feed to be the focus of the recording.

Please do this feature ASAP!!
While recording, as a Presenter, it would to be able to hide the "black ribbon" from the bottom of the recording (shows Participants icons/video). Saves on unnecessary wasted space, plus, I don't have to crop it out when editing the meeting. Plus, have the ability to include "Spotlight" in the final Teams recording.
Work around, I Pin the Participant instead of using the Spotlight option, because it is included in the recorded video.
Search for the video on YouTube "How To Spotlight Presenters in Microsoft Teams Meetings" it explains Spotlighting vs. Pinning.

Yes please!!!! Let's get this done!!!
Another good idea is if MSFT heard about good ideas and made them options instead of dragging feet waiting for people to vote.

This should be a default feature for Teams. Recording 9 random strangers, or eight and the speaker, is completely useless as a record of a panel discussion.
Agreed, this is a major problem. We hosted and recorded a large conference with 200 participants - the recording is basically unusable as the random video appearance by new participants joining disrupts the focus from the speakers, who were spotlighted in the event.

or to give the option?

Recently, my company had a virtual panel discussion which I was part of. I was spotlighted since I was sharing my experience with the audience in sign language. There was an interpreter voicing what I was signing. When the recording was posted to the company's media site, I was surprised to see I was absent from the entire recording and the audience sees the sign language interpreter instead. It kind of undermined the point of the discussion which was working with a person who has a disability. Please make spotlight recording possible for users soon!

This feature was teased when the original Spotlight feature was announced (as a caveat that spotlight would not be reflected in recordings but with a statement that went something like 'but keep an eye out as Microsoft continues to improve'). It has been several months since the launch of Spotlight, and this is s sorely needed feature for many reasons. Please expedite this. Thank you.

My teachers would greatly appreciate for the "Spotlight" feature to control what displays in the recording! Right now we have to use an odd work-around with other camera apps in order to show the classroom and have it recorded as well.
Is there a work around this please?

I have the same question, it seems like Pinning or Spotlight still does not record the intended presenter. We are using Teams for virtual fitness and the recording does not "spotlight" the fitness instructor. Seems we have to use Teams Live Event for this, however I would think recording would follow the Spotlit presenter.
