When recording a Teams meeting and using the spotlight feature will the recording of the meeting still show all attendees or focus the recording on the spotlighted video feed? For training and review purposes I would like the spotlighted feed to be the focus of the recording.

This is a must for WCAG compliance and needs updated immediately for accessibility. You must be able to spotlight an ASL interpreter.

We need this feature for internal training purposes. Important that we can focus on the presenter as needed and that this is saved in the recording.

I have literally just finished my first "All Staff Briefing" using Teams after cancelling my Zoom licence and am shocked that the recording feature does not record the spotlighted presenters!
What is the point in recording everyone else when you have chosen to spotlight everyone?
It is a real shame that I now have to look at going back to Zoom.
Does anyone know of a work around?
As all the comments say, this update is very urgent. Makes the spotlight functionality useless for organizations that use recordings.
Jason original comments are spot on along with everyone else that confirmed his post. However, I do not think anyone is home at Microsoft for this original post is about a year old. I feel Microsoft response is slower than molasses moving uphill in the artic! Please Microsoft, can you give us some idea if you are working on this issue.
Very important feature for recordings. Come on Microsoft: make it happen!
This is such an important feature to have for virtual trainings! Please prioritize this!
PLEASE! I need this so much!
Spotlight recording urgently needed without which recordings are almost useless !!!

Spotlight feature doesn't work on browsers properly, it remains on the same person all the time until attendees refresh their browser .. you need either disable it for browsers or make it work properly. I can't ask webinar attendees joining from browser to refresh every time I change the spotlight.
Unfortunately, and after days of learning and experiencing Microsoft Teams Meeting and Webinars we'll have to move to other platform that has this spotlight mandatory feature working properly
I attached a screenshot from my testing, accessing as a moderator from the app and as a guest from the browser side by side.
I'm with everyone else here. This feature is a must. We use Teams exclusively in our office and our community is going to hold a virtual candidate forum. Without being able to spotlight the person speaking, the recording will be almost useless.

I would really, really, really find this a fantastic feature!!
This is critical for training purposes where the critical content may not necessarily be in a slide deck.

Update urgently needed to make Teams a functional tool for presentations

Delivering events which focus on a specific individual (eg the author event I hosted last week) would be much improved if Spotlight was able to record as such.

The implementation of this function is urgent in order to make Teams recordings useful.
I hope they will increase the recording quality first coz right now it is so poor its almost not watchable.
Agreed - the "stay tuned for updates" message when you attempt to record a meeting where someone is spotlighted is starting to get comical.
Dringend benötigte Ergänzung.

"If you record a meeting in which someone's video is spotlighted, the video won't be spotlighted in the recording. This is just a temporary limitation, though—stay tuned for updates."
NB There's no date on the page rendering the last sentence disingenuous.
Stay tuned for updates? I've been 'tuned' since March 2020.
Shocking yet unsurprising that this feature still non existent in a tool that is mandated for online teaching purposes in so many institutions.
Teams is not an educational tool.
