Ringback Tone for caller when transferring a call
When I transfer calls with the teams client, the line goes dead to the caller until the tranferee picks up or it goes to voicemail. There needs to be a ringback or hold music to the caller. Our callers just tend to hang up after 30 seconds of dead air. I am sure there was a ringback before, but Microsoft support has said it's by design.

It's really a basic feature and so wired if it works using mobile Teams apps on a smartphone or the web client, but doesn't work with the desktop apps on windows and mac systems.
Sorry, Microsoft, this really a bug you sould fix and not a by design behavior!
17 months post migrating to Teams for our phone system and no ring back tone to PSTN callers calling into our main Teams call queue is still an issue.
We use an Audiocodes Mediant 800 SBC and are configured with Direct routing to Microsoft and our circuit is a PRI. I have opened cases with both Audiocodes and Microsoft and have provided Wireshark captures and the session logs from the SBC during a call that I made from my mobile number to our main call queue. The AudioCodes technician said once the receptionist hits the transfer button, the Audiocodes never receives a SIP re-invite request placing the call on hold. As such, no ring back tone can be generated from the SBC in this scenario.
If I ask the receptionist to place me on hold, then I hear the default on-hold music from Microsoft.
It's very frustrating for sure but I'm bulldogging this issue until I get a resolution. If anyone else using an Audiocodes SBC with direct routing and Teams call queues knows of a way to make a ring back tone play when a PSTN call is transferred please let us know.
This is ridiculous that this is not fixed . teams to teams works fine but add other callers in the mix then doesn't work just air
This needs to be fixed ASAP. Telling our callers to please hold for dead silence is unacceptable.
Please fix it ASAP.
This is a very important issue.
When people don't hear the ringing tone, they think the call is disconnected.
Had a ticket open for 3-5 months, so as expected provided insane amounts of data before they came back and said it's expected behavior. Tried telling me it was something with our SBC's. I suppose new backgrounds and emojis take precedence over standard expected features.

I too had a case open with Microsoft for over 3 months and was told it was escalated to their engineering team. Engineering came back and said this is expected behavior and that I would need to open a "Design Change Request" which is something a "Premier contract" can request. The Product group makes the final judgment on whether it will be implemented. My old ShoreTel VOIP system had a lot of flaws, but at least it did provide a ringback tone when transferring PSTN calls from the main call queue.
Just noticed this today for the first time. Receptionist mentioned to me she knew about it, but usually hits transfer, enters contact, sends the call and hangs up.
There needs to be some confirmation the call is going through.
Yes please this a must!
Really important for calling person as they think the line goes dead
Is there an update on this issue? I have a ticket opened with Microsoft since months!
and no results yet
same here, only to PSTN callers. our VVX600 phones are signed into teams and generate a ringback during transfers, but not when transferring using the Teams client. This was noticed since we work from home because of COVID-19. Before that, most we're using the VVX600 phones for calls.
Just noticed this in my environment too. Only happens with pstn calls, but that's the most important. Please fix. It used to ringback.
yes please!!!!!!! we have noticed this has happened to us as well!
