Allow links to be longer than 255 characters in Lists
When adding a link to an lists entry, it cannot be longer than 255 characters. Which means that OneNote links cannot be added as they are (often) longer.

FOUND A WORKAROUND:
Jeremy Kramer said, "How do I make that horrifyingly long Microsoft Teams link shorter and nicer to look at so I can keep everyone within Teams? Easy…
1. First things first, Copy & Paste that really long Microsoft Teams link (not the SharePoint one)
2. Start a conversation in Teams, then click the Format icon Microsoft Teams format icon located on the bottom left of your teams conversation box.
3. Then click the Insert Link icon Microsoft Teams link icon. From here you can change the name of your link to whatever you want in the Text to Display box – just drop the Microsoft Teams link you Copy & Pasted earlier into the Address box.
4. Click Insert and then you’re good to go!
Final result was stellar! 😊

Really needed to add a links to specific files within teams
Seems kind of useful to be able to link to a teams file within a teams tool.. This is at best a HalfAssAlmostMadeAGoodToolButStoppetAtTheFinishLine solution as always, thank you microsoft.

definitely needed. It's very frustrating and takes from the experience with this product. An automatic shortening service would be very helpful here.

it would make Lists so much more powerful if you could link to files that are already in Teams channels. Saves having to upload the document again, or (as we have done) creating a Word document which contains a clickable link, and attaching it to List entry.
Ok, like expected 😢
It is a SharePoint limitation, and it has been on SharePoint/Uservoice for half a decade now with hundreds of votes. In 2016, Microsoft reported it will "think about it". Great.
This was also the first thing I stumbled upon, after just a few minutes.
I really hope this doesn't take two years to "fix". 😐
I'm not sure if "Teams" is the right place for this feedback. The root cause seems to be in Lists itself, maybe even SharePoint...
I think this is important to solve
Also would be awesome if Microsoft will be able to offer a URL shortening Service for customers
