Add the full screen option during Screen Sharing and Meetings
Why did Teams remove the full screen Option during Screen Sharing and Meetings? This was an option before and now it's been replaced by "Focus" which DOES NOT do the same thing. Now ever time someone share their screen with me, I have to squint at what they're showing. The Focus option does nothing. We used to be able to full screen shared screens and see everything at the proper size. It is unprofessional of Microsoft to keep removing and changing useful features without any notice.
Thank you for your continued feedback. We have not forgotten about this ask, this feature request remains on our backlog. We will share an update as soon as one is available.
I'm sure that MS understands by now that we need this. I'm sure that MS developers use Teams all the time to work on code or presentations together (especially in this work-from-home era), and constantly run into the problem that they have to zoom+scroll or change resolutions to collaborate. I'm sure all 1457 of us are not the only people who've complained about this obvious feature.
What I am not entirely sure about is how this is less important than emoji's, notification styling or re-skinning the A/V settings pane or a 5-minutes-left-warning?
2021 brought a number of good improvements to Teams, e.g. system audio sharing on MacOS, breakout rooms, better lobby management and more slideshow presentation freedom. All good improvements. But come on, for half a year, this it all we get? Many (if not most) of us have pretty much been glued to this product for like 6-8 hours a day for the entire past year, and especially for the power users, little has improved.
And on this front, as many have noted, it's actually gotten worse because this function was in there, but was *removed*. I get that MS is not going to explain this, but I wish they would explain this.

The worst thing in the Teams is missing full screen feature . Previously the workable around solution was "Disable [Turn ON new meeting experience] ".
Now Microsoft removed the option to make thing worse.
the full screen share feature was there since OCS/Lync/SfB, but it is gone in Teams..

Alex, it's more 8 months. Surely more than enough time to roll out this functionality.
Interesting: There is a true full screen mode available in Teams on Linux.
See https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams/can-t-find-option-for-full-screen-after-update/m-p/1495966/page/7 for details and a short description.
Perhaps the Windows developers should just have a chat with their fellow colleagues next door on how they accomplished that :)
Why would you remove this? Zoom has had this feature for a long time, that is to pop out the screenshare but keep the larger video view.
Either that or adjust the video view and the screenshare to how you want it. I'd rather see my colleagues and have a large screen so plenty of room for both but Teams doesn't support it :(
Any update for the proper full screen option with 1:1 aspect ratio?

Can you please provide an update on when this vital feature will be re-introduced, please? Surely it's more important than having changed the Emojis, recently?

@Alex there has been an addition of a mode called "Full screen" to the new meetings experience. It does not go full screen. It is misleading and/or broken. Please do not remove this item from the backlog or mark it as complete. The addition of a fake/broken full-screen option into the new teams experience is WORSE than not having it at all, because it allows tricky developers to mark this ticket as "complete" when it couldn't be farther from the truth.
This is bordering on insulting. Please bring back actual full screen mode. Every other major teleconferencing app has had this for years. Skype for Business had this. It's a no-brainer.
Hello Microsoft Teams UserVoice,
when sharing screens e.g. for code review it would be much more eye pleasing if the full screen option was available. Many of our devleopers do use the same screen resolution. With a proper full screen mode in Teams, the view would not be scaled and the letters would be displayed crisp and sharp. Hope this feature will return sooooon.
Everyday I wish we had Zoom instead of teams, the meeting experience is so much better. This enormous top banner is absolutely not required when we're checking slides. The full screen option is just normal, why did you remove it?

It's disappointing this feature still hasn't re-appeared. We use Teams meetings for virtual presenters at events, I show them on screen in room so they can talk to the audience but having all that UI on screen means I've moved everything to Zoom.
We also live stream a lot and had been using Teams to bring virtual presenters in and pinning them full screen so we could switch to that shot during the stream. Again with all the UI in the way I have been forced to push everyone over to Zoom.
A couple of days are gone by since the 21st of october 2020.
We're now using microsoft teams version 1.4.00.8872 (64-Bit) as of 28st of april 2021 and still there is no real fullscreen mode available.
I always understood that the teams app is for business customers, those customers are companies that have hundreds of employees. and those employees using a screensharing tool that doesn't support fullscreen. i'm working in engineering in the chemical industry and we're using cad software at 3840x1600. if a user is sharing his screen and even the resolutions match i can't read the text in the toolbars, command window etc. this is pretty annoying - nobody understands this.
the whole program still seems to be a quickshot that millions are forced to work with.
Our events also relied on the Fullscreen-possibility of Teams.... Now, as it has gone we will definitly look into alternatives as it´s not usable anmore. If NDI would work fine it´s no big deal, but now both is broken....

I would really appreciate if the real Fullscreen mode would come back. If the presenter and the viewer have the same screen resolution it was perfect in the past – now it is blurred. I think that the undesired rescaling even cost CPU-power.
My company has been doing remote mulitcam content captures via Teams. We stopped using the Teams NDI feature because of rampant video and sync issues, instead we where doing full screen screen caps. With full screen gone from Teams, we are now pushing all of our clients towards Zoom for recording sessions. Until the NDI feature is made more reliable, or fullscreen is returned, Teams is no longer an option for us. It's a shame because it was working so well for us prior to this change.
The published roadmap shows that Microsoft thinks this is done, and there are no new items on the roadmap showing that you are planning it.
Do any of you at Microsoft actually use this tool? There's no way any of you have tried using it on 15" laptop screens. The current "Focus/Fullscreen" combo is borderline worthless.
Meetings are always, like, "Can you zoom in? Can you blow that up?"

Strongly agreed; using latest Teams update. The latest update introduces a baffling mode called "full screen" but which still doesn't do full screen. Remarkably, the option to disable the "New experience" is also gone, fully removing the option to go fully full-screen.
I don't know what kind of comparative analysis you do or don't do versus your competitors, but did you notice all of them provide a full screen option for 1:1 viewing of the shared content? At a big organization, we do a lot of content sharing, and it is always blurrier and smaller with Teams than any other competitor. That is the #1 feature in an app like this. Not for sound (business phones have had conferencing features for ages), not for video (most people have their cameras turned off). But for presentation sharing.
Teams is the worst quality of the bunch by far because it doesn't let you view the presentation in full screen like all other competitors. It's insulting that the option was removed and replaced with a very deceptive and non-functional mode erroneously called "Full Screen" but which does not hide the toolbar at the top or show the content in 1:1 (pixel-to-pixel) in order for it to truly mirror the presenter's screen. Every other app does this, and Teams used to do this if you disabled New Experience and went Full Screen.
This is a truly baffling misread of what basic functionality is needed.
True full-screen. No bars. No overlays unless mouse is moved or screen is clicked or a button is pressed. Just 1:1 mirroring. It's not hard. Re-implement this please.

Absolutely needit! There are so many people in my Team and employees in the Company that badly want the true fulscreen back. It is annoying to zoom in the screen to read and keep manuvering it whenever a User is sharing. It makes no sense to call it fullscreen if it is not truly full screen.

Agreed with the other 1,000 + people, return full screens !!

Is there a timetable at what time Real fullscreen will be available?
