Chat / Contacts List Dropdown menu
I had found the Contacts View, ... then you went and changed it to hide the word Contacts under a Drop down menu that says Chat... Took me 10 minutes to realize you didnt take away the Contacts List, but rather just hid it with non-intuitive UI. revert back to how you had them side by side before... or make Contacts it's own Tab... you should be able to POP OUT Contacts & Chats , to make it look like a small Skype window for people who liked it like that.
AGREED! Make Contacts View it's own tab, or let it be the default CHAT option, or have a side by side Contacts vs Chat to make it easier to find. Also please set the Contacts groups default to collapsed like Skype was. Or give a collapse all / expand all feature for Chat / Contacts groups.
Absolutely!! Need quick access to contacts vs. chat. It is frustrating to have to choose chat, and then click the drop down to move from chat to contacts. Please remove this drop down and just have a link to contacts next to chat on the side to easily navigate.
agree, this should be 2 different "tabs" next to each other in the "chat" section. It is completely useless to have a drop-down list there.
Especially as the "chat" drop-down is not visible with any notifications in case the "contacts" drop-down had been selected last time. So if somebody chats you, you first need to find it "behind" the contacts list....
Maybe also rename from "contacts" to "favorites" or "groups" like it is in Skype - I assume that it is supposed to provide the same feature as having specific grouped contacts for easier access to chat/call like in Skype.
And to the moderators:
can you kindly merge all the requests which cover this feature - so that the total of votes is summed up for all of them? thanks!
I would like a Contact Menu that pops out of the Teams app, similar to how I can have pop-out chats.

I agree. This requires extra clicking that is completely not necessary. Please switch it back!
Like to have 2 buttons at the top of the view : one for Chat and one for Contacts.
And also remember the expandation-state of a Contact-group when you switch back to the Contacts-view.

It would also be great if we could add Contacts to the sidebar right underneath Chat.
Just have 2 menu items that you can click. You added a extra click for no reason. Unless there's a future where there are like 6 or 7 things to warrant a drop down? Otherwise it's a little thing but annoying enough to have a extra click added that isn't required.

Agree with what's already been said. This is a terrible user experience. This is a very easy usability problem to solve. Lose the contacts list and just show recent chats with a "contact search" bar at the top, searching shows contacts first from recent chats, then from my teams, then from my organization. Choosing a contact starts a chat and offers the option of adding that person to my contacts if they're not already in there.

Having Contacts as non-visible in the sidebar plus having in non-visible in a dropdown is very non-intuitive and requires unnecessary clicks. I think it would be best to have it a separate icon in the sidebar between Chat and Teams.

i constantly use the search function to find contacts becuase it's not intuitive to click chat to find contacts. why can't I have both onscreen?

I really dislike that you put "Contacts" and Chat under the same menu. It's confusing to have to use the dropdown to get to my contacts! I don't like the change at all.
Yes, a thousand times this. Currently the Chats or Contacts are hidden depending on what's selected in the drop box and that's horrible design. At the very least, they should be separate tabs with the words Chat and Contacts both clearly visible.
I agree with Rob's suggestion above. Having Chat and Contacts under drop down has increased it by one-click for users, instead having those as side-by-side was a better option for users.
I agree - please revert back to how it was, by having Chat and Contacts listed separately vs. under one menu!
