Suppress Meeting Notification Until Meeting Start Time
Often, someone joins a meeting a few minutes early causing notifications on every other user to immediately join. This causes meetings to actually start earlier than scheduled due to everyone showing up due to the notification. As well, once the 'meeting started' notification goes away, a new notification does not fire at the actual start time of the meeting which can cause someone to end up being late if they can't be early (another meeting for example).
Ask: Have a toggle/setting to have meeting notifications fire at meeting start time vs. first meeting participant. Alternatively, have all notifications fire at meeting start time vs. before since meetings shouldn't begin before scheduled time anyways.

This is a must have functionality.

This seems to be a user experience bug. It changes user behavior - people feel pressured to join if the meeting has already started so they don't miss any conversations. And those that cannot join early as they are finishing their previous meeting, do miss conversations.
Meeting Started notification should never pop up before meeting start time.
Nice-to-have: have a 'waiting room' for those that join early, and admit them into a meeting only at meeting start time.

Abosolutely critical. I need to log in early and test before a large meeting or webinar. I don't want the entire list to get notifications while I'm testing!

Does anyone know what the threshold time is that the "meeting has started" popup occurs?
For example, if I join a meeting 3 days early, I don't think people get the notification that the meeting has started. But if I join it 5 minutes early, they do. So what is that pre-meeting start time threshold for notifying/not notifying attendees? -

There are also cases where as a meeting organizer, there are aspects of the meeting that need to be prepared a little early, or there needs to be a smaller pre-meeting organization and this notification choice would help with those situations.

Please help solve the egregious meeting has started 6 minutes before the actual meeting notification toast.

Would love this feature. Outlook either makes you join 5 minutes to early or to late by default.

If nothing else, have Teams re-alert at meeting start time to have you join. That alone seems an easy fix/requirement if the other feature isn't toggle-able. Thanks!
