Support for Analog Devices
Analog devices such as facsimile (fax) machines and Public Address (paging) systems are not supported in Teams without a Session Border Controller.
However, every certified IP Phone is capable of registering with Microsoft, receiving calls, and outputting that call over an RJ9 line to the headset receiver. If one of these devices were to merely auto-answer calls, it would become an Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA).
Eliminate the need for a session border controller, by devising an ATA with a mini-display to use https://microsoft.com/devicelogin
Our migration to Microsoft Teams Voice, all-in-the-cloud, has complications around a reasonable analog solution for fax and paging.
Wondering with recent announcements, if this will include support for ATA adaptors, Paging and Multicast via the SIP handset.
Microsoft has just announced in a blog post that “Support for SIP phones will be available in the first half of 2021.”. It looks like any SIP based phone will be supported, the blog mentions “Cisco, Yealink, Polycom, and others”. It would be great to get an update on this matter.
Yes we need also this solution. Please support analog/fax lines without an SBC..... Thanks
