Add Live Reaction Option in meetings
This Live Reaction option (including "Thumbs Up") would be an easy way for Attendees to respond to the Presenter during meetings consisting of more than 15 people. This would prevent mass unmuting of microphones which causes the whole meeting to go out of order and most importantly loses time.
We are glad to announce that Meeting Reactions have started rolling out! You can expect to see this feature in your desktop and mobile clients over the coming week.
Thank you to our Public Preview users who gave us feedback!

There should be multiple kinds of applause, from "roaring thunderous applause" to "golf clap."

Last week we had a fully online group meeting of about 50 people which would ordinarily have had the majority of attendees in the same room, with only a few online. The energy was completely different, and the lack of applause from the in-room crowd was really lacking. Having some way to cheer in the meeting would be great.

I'm on board with the idea of this. The serious side of me ordinarily would shun the idea of things like this as a waste of time and resources, however, anything that can assist in boosting team moral during these times of extended remote working has my vote right now!

Wholeheartedly disagree with MS_GURU. It’s entertainment and it serves a useful purpose — not interrupting in order to provide praise.
I’m all for this, especially during these crazy work from home times.
It would be awesome if just toggling the space bar made a small reaction clap icon float across the screen like in Facebook live. Maybe some artificial applause sound could play if it didn't interfere too much?

i don't think its useless at all .. some kind of positive feedback without having to unmute and that also works while screensharing or a lot of participants would be great.
Because with the two latter situations it is hard to see and read faces / non-verbal approval.
We need reactions in video chat. We now have big group meetings, and we need ways to say "yes" and "clap" without unmuting
Simlar to what zoom or twitch seem to have:
Yeah but here's the thing: Entertainment vs actually working. Useless idea and should be disregarded.

Now that we're having sprint reviews over Teams across the office, there's not much applause for working demos and great features we've pushed, mostly out of courtesy. It'd be good to have a button/key that triggers applause during a call/meeting, similar to how the feature works in Nintendo Entertainment System: Nintendo Switch Online.
