Don’t turn off the camera on iPad in split screen
When an iPad is used in split screen with Teams being one of the Apps, the camera turns off. It would be useful to allow iPad users to participate with video in a Teams call and have a second app open on the iPad for reference material at the same time.

Zoom and Cisco Webex now continue showing the user’s video, even in Split View. Microsoft, please check what API they use and implement it.

sorry, how does zoom have this feature? my camera goes black when I split-screen with zoom and other apps too? I thought it was an iPad thing, not an app setting.

Yes, as a student I agree. It is hard for me to get scolded by the teacher” shouting put your camera on!”. I would strongly insist that you would note this point down and plz reflect on it. Thank you!

This can‘t be managed by MS Teams but by Apple itself, because Apple doesnt allow camera access on split screen, doesnt matter which app it is.

when I attempt a test I want to my teachers to see that I am doing the test.it would really be helpful to add this feature in teams, something like zoom it would really improve teams thank you :]

Given remote learning during the pandemic where teachers need to see these young kids to ensure they are working it would be great for them to be able to switch to another app and not lose their video. My son's teacher asks them to go to SeeSaw and work on an assignment, but then has to interrupt them every so often to ensure accountability is maintained.

I agree. My kid needed this today to let the teacher look at him while he attempted his test. As soon as he sent teams to background, the camera was switched off. we tried split screen view, but the teacher still couldn;t see us.
Looks like unless its running in the foreground (and is THE active app), Teams won't let the other person look at videos. This is a behaviour I've seen only on an iPad. It works normally on PCs.

Agree! This would improve the Teams-app a lot for us that uses our iPads as a main computer.
