Status getting changed from Available to Away automatically after 5 minutes of inactivity
The status is getting changed automatically to away after 5 mins of inactivity though my laptop is in working mode and I'm working in different things. Please let us change the status manually or please provide an 'Idle time set up option'.

MS please total all issues with "status" indicator for a true number of total complaints. This issue has been commented on since day one and a simple fix. When using MS tools the status in TEAMS goes to away. I was watching a training in TEAMS and appeared away for an hour and a half, not good with my manager. Same goes for meetings, town halls, working in Excel etc.

It's interesting that there are so many threads documenting this issue, but only one categorized it as a bug, rather than a suggestion:

I thought this was fixed in the PC desktop app with the new "duration" feature but I've been testing it today and it still goes to Idle if I don't have the app up on my computer after 5 mins. I don't know why this is taking so long to fix.

Why does Microsoft feel it is their decision to change my status to away? If that is a feature then it should be user selectable. I am at my desk working on drawings and reading specifications. Just because I did not touch my keyboard or use my mouse does not mean I am away. Microsoft and their dictatorship as to how I use my computer is beyond annoying. Change this feature.

If I leave my laptop untouched for several minutes, my Teams status is automatically changed from Online to Away. This is super annoying. I want people to know I'm available even if I'm not typing on my laptop!!!

I'm not sure if there was an update to MS Teams, however, this has started happening on my work laptop now. I have my laptop and 2 additional monitors. I can be continuously working and when MSTeams is minimized, it will automatically change the setting to away when I am actually working.
In this time, of the pandemic, when more people are working from home, it is important that we control our status, especially while working. This is something that was included with Skype and should also be with MSTeams.

I'm not sure if this has to do with the version of Teams we have. I had my laptop reimaged and all my apps were transferred over again. Before this, this was not an issue. I can't believe there aren't more people who are experiencing this.
