Improved Chat Pop-Out
Thanks for finally releasing the chat pop-out, but unfortunately it needs some work. Individual pop-out windows for every conversation is frustrating, confusing, and inefficient. There should be an ability to pop-out the entire chat component within Teams, or AT LEAST group together the pop-out chats into one Window. Also, if the pop-out chats are minimized and a new message comes in, when you click on the notification banner, it opens the chat in the main Teams window, not the pop-out chat that you have with that person. This defeats the whole purpose of pop-out chats. Please fix this.

It is more important than everything else as SfB is running out of business.
Just add a single-line text field to the call notification banner, as it already exists on the message notification banner ;-), to directly send a short message.
Optional, add a chat button to the call banner to open a chat window to start a conversation with the caller.

It is very inconvenient to lose what you are working on to answer a chat and have to navigate back to it and wait forever for it to load. Please make the chat menu a pop out option and have the notification pop ups open the popped out chat window not the main Teams chat window.

It is good as is in Skype, grouping all single chat in one window, apply the same function on the Teams chat

Along with this idea, we would like the ability to pin the Chat in the taskbar!

Honestly I wish we could pop out everything into separate windows for multi-tasking, pop out chat tab, pop out a team, pop out calendar, etc. ESPECIALLY search, since its hard to go between looking at a results and back to search results list

Please rebuild Skype functionality in MS Teams chat. The user experience in Skype was stellar and unfortunate the functionality was not leveraged and built into Teams chat. Important to quickly catch up here...

or not to popup the second message and onward

Agree - this needs to be at least configurable to be enabled as a pop-out standalone app like skype. I have to take an extra step to initiate a chat, and sometimes my personal chats are lost by team meeting chats of people saying 'good bye', 'need to leave early'.

Make it a separate app. Having to go back to a doc, losing my place in it, is very frustrating and slows down productivity greatly. End up synching docs to my local drive to be able to read them, which defeats the purpose of an online shared portal.

We NEED to be able to pop-out a chat from the banner preview.

And when you click on a notification and the main window switches to chat, whatever you had open in a Teams channel is reset. In addition to the improvement suggested, I would like to see a pop out option on the notification banner in case that chat hasn't been popped out already. This enhancement could be one in the same where the pop out option appears on the banner and clicking goes to a pop out chat regardless of whether than chat is already in a separate window or not.

100% now that my company took away skype messaging we have to use teams chat. having the full chat ableto be poped out and not just one window would be helpful.

I agree with this 100%. It is really inconvenient to have to switch back and forth from chat and teams when working in Teams. It is counter productive and makes me miss Slack even more.

This is very disruptive during a Teams meeting. For example the team will be all working within Planner Kanban template and when any of the participants get a chat in Teams they are bumped out of the application and have to regroup after addressing/ignoring the chat. This is really a feature that needs to be fixed otherwise the combination of chat and meetings within teams for collaboration is unworkable.

I agree. A user preference page is required to manage basic usability tools such as Chats being popped out by default.

Please fix this! My company has disabled Skype for Business with Teams as a replacement.. Honestly the chat feature as-is is unusable.
