Use tags for inviting required attendees to channel meeting
One use of Teams tags is to identify team members working on particular workstreams. I'd like to use Tags to invite required participants to meetings in a Channel - other members of the channel can choose to join a meeting, but Tagged workstream members are identified as required.
For example, use "WS1" as a tag to identify Team members working on Workstream 1. In Teams meeting dialogue, enter WS1 in Required Attendees for meetings focused on that workstream.

Yes, we want this too in our company. When you're used to mention a group of people by using a tag, then it's only logical to also use the same tag to invite them to a Teams meeting.
Inviting whole channels to a meeting is mostly not an alternative in our company, as we try to keep as much Teams open for the whole company - so we'd invite hundreds/thousands of people when inviting the channel of a public Teams.

It will be vey helpful indeed if we can use tags for inviting attendees to a scheduled meeting instead of adding attendees one by one.
You can tag groups on the "post" page of that team/channel. If you post a meeting to occur on the "General Channel"...go to the General channel "posts" tab...and tag them on that. Seems to work for me.

We were discussing the need for this functions this morning. Its a really practical idea that would create simplicity when wanting to invite specific people within a channel.

If you have to invite many people to the meeting is necessary this feature.
This needs to happen ASAP! I use tags all the time...frustrating that I can't use them when setting up meetings.
I agree and support!

Really hoping to see MS expand the use of tags in TEAMS and bring it up to speed with other similar tools
