Assign Custom background to entire Organisation from Teams Admin Portal
Assign Custom background to a entire Organisation from Teams Admin Portal
This would include the ability to upload a custom Company approved custom Teams meeting background uploaded and optionally set as default background for all users.
Thank you for your feedback! We are currently working on this feature. Please stay tuned for updates.
In the meantime there is some aspects that can be controlled :
Restricting background effects
In line with officially launching support for people to upload their own backgrounds, Microsoft launched controls for IT admins to restrict the use of background effects.
This is controlled via the New-CsTeamsMeetingPolicy and Set-CsTeamsMeetingPolicy cmdlets within the Skype for Business Online PowerShell module and are available through the new VideoFiltersMode parameter. The options are:
NoFilters – No Background Effects at all
BlurOnly – Only Background Blur
BlurAndDefaultBackgrounds – Only Background Blur, Default Backgrounds built-in to Teams
AllFilters – Background Blur, Default Backgrounds and Custom Images
You can create a new Teams Meeting Policy to restrict a subset of users, or change the Global Policy if you only have a single policy and want to make the change globally.

I would like to see the backgrounds implemented as a semicolon separated list of folders. This would allow us to define multiple locations where the images will be located. We can use one as a corporate wide image set, another for geography, and if we desire, a user-writable one that allows them to place their own images. These could be local paths or network paths, but obviously for workstations moving outside the corporate confines, the administrator would be well advised to use something like a file policy to place the files into a common set of local folders which are then targeted by the policy.
Hoping to see it implemented soon.

Would be very nice to customize background options. For example to have one background/logo for all Teams participants

Dear Microsoft, is there any way we can track this somewhere on the Microsoft Teams roadmap?

could you please give us some tips on how you did that ?
Wich files do you replace in Teams cache folder ?

I wanted to provide a specific use case to expand on this request. We are actually pushing out multiple backgrounds with GPO (just xcopying files to the users teams cache folder) - It would be very useful if we could add multiple background choices and also remove old ones as seasons, promotions or company branding changes. It would be very helpful to do all this in Teams admin center so the same resources can be seamlessly published to web users and also intune/AAD only PCs that are not managed with GPO.

Hello MS Teams Admin,
When can we expect to get the option of assigning custom background to entire Organisation from Teams Admin Portal. As of now there is no control from IT perspective to control background.
Any release date will give some relief.

It would be great to be able to upload a collection of images and assign collection(s) to different groups so that each individual may choose a background (if there are options) or only use the default one.

To be able to manage this from the Teams admin center would be amazing. I am still muddling through articles on doing this with an MSI or PowerShell.
why is there no feedback from MS yet?
Our company needs this too.
Please give this priority
It´s very important to set a corporate wide background global in teams admin. And the users are not able to change . That´s mandatory.
Please implement this very important feature asap an give us an information.
