Allow user to set length of time before status changes to "away".
I would like to be able to set the length of time my status changes from "available" to "away', the same as I can in Skype. Or instance, 5 mins, 10 mins, 30 mins, etc.
I've just posted same idea on "Notifications":-) Definitely - this should be changed!
I completely agree. There should be a way for you to change the period of time when your status changes from Active to Away - just like Skype! I am not suggesting that it should be an unlimited amount of time; however, I do think you should be able to set it various increments from 0 - 60 minutes based on user preference.

Its astonishing to me how teams is incredibly worse than Skype. The fact that we as end users can't change the time frame for the status to auto change is ridiculous in 2020.
Teams is becoming a laughing stock in our office and forcing real conversation with the C-suite to switch completely to Webex.
I see that this request is going ignored in many other posts. Would be nice to get some response on this from Microsoft, rather than being ignored. Switching back to Skype until this is sorted.

I am also experiencing issues with this. If i am in a meeting it will change to away when I am not, and sometimes i'm even typing when it changes to away. I need a way of changing the time period so this doesn't keep changing all the time. Its not good to have this happening when you are a remote worker and working, it makes you look like you aren't working when you are.

I loved how this worked for Skype. I may be on a call with someone and my status will turn to away even though I'm still available. I want to set my time myself rather than it just switching to away within a few minutes.
