Need to be able to open multiple windows in Teams
Why can't I open multiple windows in Teams, this is frustrating and ruins my productivity as I have to flip back and forth between projects in ONE window. Please make multiple windows in Teams.
Why not let the user decide whether he wants to activate the multi-window option or not? a simple switch in the settings would solve the problem and everyone would be satisfied?
We in the company now have the problem that we have different designs, single and multi window clients, although the same team version number is used ?! reinstallation and deletion of all local and roaming team data did not create a solution. please fixed this problem! In the new client is no switch like "Turn on new meeting experience". Why? Thank you very much!
Agree, multiple windows would be really helpful, after all - it's run on windows OS and not window.
Look's exactly like MS don't care about this. Presumably their engineers don't use their own SW.
I am on multiple teams, with several channels each, and having everything in the same window makes it really hard to use this tool. My folks and I need the ability to move between tasks without losing track of things that are on hold.

PLEASE add this feature. Many of us work with multiple files at once and need to be able to see more than one thing at a time.
+1. This is not about chatting. Rather about marking assigments and quick-checking reading lists or filling in weekly schedules and consulting class members' lists, etc., simultaneously. I teach at a university and it is mandatory for us to use Teams for online teaching. I find it more and more handy, yet the lack of multiple windows is absolutely frustrating.
Exactly what Stephen Compas said. This is very, very unproductive as it!
+1 vote from me. It's not enough that the "pop-out" function is available to "Chats"... I need all the apps to be able to pop out, particularly "Teams", "Calendar" and "Calls"
puuhhhhlllleeeaaassse add. Hard to imagine who on the innovation team thought it was a good idea to not include pop-out or multiple windows

+1 Vote for full pop-out functionality of all apps and channels. Should be a given in the MS environment, and would save tangible time every day in my and my teams' workflows.

Let's make it simple: Every left column app and every channel, and every tab in a channel should be able to be a pop-out - some be default.
Update - I just checked the current MS Roadmap for Teams and there is NOTHING on the Roadmap regarding the extension of the pop-out functionality.
Please share this topic with all of your Teams. Let's get this to go viral and get MS to respond.
What did we used to say about squeaky wheels?

This ability is desperately needed by the community. The underlying ability is there as demonstrated by the fact that once a Teams Meeting has started the base, yet separate window is still available. Please push the priority of this feature to a higher level. The user base for MS-Teams is growing and we need Microsoft to support its users. - Thanks
The ability to pop out chats was added last spring. I now see that some user-added tabs (e.g., SharePoint lists and PowerApps) can be popped out, but others can't -- not only can you not pop out the default Posts, Wiki, and Files tabs, but I tested adding a Wiki tab and that one can't pop out either. I would think that any tab should be able to be popped out to its own window, but especially "Posts", since many teams by default will use that more often than chats!
This is the exact problem I have with Teams. Working in a high school, I have the need -- frequently -- to move from team to team quickly. Having to close one to open another takes much too long.

I kind of like the "single place" approach of teams; i could even imagine putting everything together into one giant <whatever-you-like-to-call-it> (although i have no idea of how to "navigate" there).
But if you don't take that giant leap and stick with (kind of) files, being limited to one "something" (chat, file ...) simply does not work. It would not even help a lot to be able to open one of each kind at the same time.
I think, as long as there are files, you will find yourself in the situation to work on at least two of those simultaneously - not every day, but also not like just once per year.
This thread has the advantage that it does not mention at all the "chat", which is the only thing the dev team focused on before flagging the other one to "done". Copying what I said in another one :
This lack of feature is definitely a productivity killer. Especially when you want to work on multiple collaboration files at the same time, where opening the file on the desktop would not be appropriate. I don't understand what's the point of creating such a "one stop shop" for Microsoft apps but then to make it cumbersome in a way that I dread any upcoming work on it. I'm also clueless on how on this thread : https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/16926739-multi-window-for-chats-and-more the only thing noted by the Dev team is the need to have multiple chats at once ?
There is an entire thread on this in the office forum with ongoing expressions of frustration in the group over a period of more than a year. Unfortunately, the response from the former moderator, Rick Song MSFT, provides a link to allow people to vote, except it doesn't work, and apparently no one from MS is monitoring this forum any more, or they would have noticed the complaints about the bad link. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_o365admin-mso_teams-mso_o365b/multiple-windows-for-ms-teams/9ad8419e-3afa-410e-95ce-7bf6454de524?messageId=a0c6ee76-b1f1-432c-963c-4f0ceede930a&page=4
Would love this to be a feature so I can keep chat open in one and still efficiently work in channels, files, etc. Right now I am having to work in the app and internet browser version.

Totally agrees. See a lot of enhancement requests for this here. we moved all our plans from ProjectPlace and really misses the ability to have several windows open at the same time.
