Putting people back into the lobby
I would like to be able to put participants back into the lobby or on hold while the rest continues the discussion. Necessary when dealing with conflict of interest in a board meeting!
It would be great as mentioned by the other below to 'put' people back in the lobby so they can have a discussion outside of the main event and then bring them back into the discussion.

Our hospital is looking for an option to remove someone from the meeting audio temporarily during a discussion and then bring them back in as well. Currently we are having them hang up/disconnect and then we text them when they can come back into the meeting. We hoped that breakout rooms would solve this issue but if they don't have the new Teams meeting experience set up or if they call in (rather than log in via the app) we can not move them to another room.
It would be great if there was a way to temporarily block all incoming and outgoing audio for one participant with the click of a mouse and then click again and bring them back in. It would be even nicer if they had some nice music (like Headspace) and an occasional message until they get pulled back in so they know they are still part of the meeting.
Apparently we are not the only ones needing this option as my IT tech found this message thread for me. Is this something that is being looked into?
This would be great!! Kinda like putting someone on hold because right now all we can do it mute and/or disable the camera. It would be so nice to gently invite someone back into the chat :) On that note there was also a suggestion to have the ability to send information to whoever is waiting in the lobby. Going one step further, it would be neat if we customize this space. Company logo, dept, etc. Doorbell to be readmitted. Maybe some elevator music?
I agree, this is an essential function for the Democratic Services team who use your product.

Please please add this function. It would be so helpful for local authorities to be able to use this feature to ensure closed sessions and adjournments are seamless and secure. Thank you.

Even better: if we could have the possibility to chat with those currently in the lobby, for instance to let them know how long it is going to take before they can join again (so that they don't have to stay there and just wait).
This would be incredibly useful, I agree. I work with financing of innovation projects and we also have the need to exclude participants due to conflict of interest from parts of a discussion. Right now we have to send them a separate message (via mail, as they very often are not part of the organisation) and ask them to join again. It would be great if we could exclude/bring back participants. If possible: log this information automatically in the meeting chat. Thanks!

I work with a labor union. When we have meetings with a Company Rep and one or a few of our members we need the ability to send the Company Rep back into the lobby while we have a sidebar with our member and then be able to readmit the Company Rep, or in the reverse. Place the member in the lobby while we have a sidebar with the Company Rep.
From a courts aspect, we need this ability when anything confidential comes up and we need to move participants back out of the meeting

We would like to have this feature for several scenarios, especialy in the current Corona times.
eg. During commercial meetings we want this option to first discuss vendor proposals with local team before giving feedback to vendor.
Also for quizzes and verbal tests can you discuss 1-on-1 and have a plenary session to wrap-up.
