Expand emojis to reflect the diversity of ethnicity, gender, sexuality and disability of your user base
Emoji set is limited and almost exclusively white and male. This doesn't reflect the make up of most modern workplaces and certainly doesn't reflect the make up of your global user base.
Thank you for your feedback! The team is currently working on a significant update to add a broader and more diverse selection of emojis to Teams. We will share an update as soon as one is available.

Based on all of the fanfare at Ignite regarding Microsoft's approach to diversity, you'd think this would have been done by now. Let's go Microsoft - I know you are serious about this topic.
Can you start to include darker shades of skin tone for your emojis anytime soon?

This should have been done at the very least in mid 2019 when Apple's expanded its emojis was being heavily discussed in the press. Please start to take that journey now.
Full Windows emojis can be used by pressing (WIN + .) - here every colour is possible, as well as prosthetics, firepeople, policepeople, workpeople etc.
Not sure what the issue is here.
The built in Emoji are yellow and genderless
One small step for technical innovation, one great leap for the diversity initiative and recognition.

I can change the shade of my emoji on my phone to represent me, even make my own Mii Character on Nintendo Switch so why can't I on Teams when I am using this application for business purposes throughout the day? Doesn't make sense to me!

Wow, it's amazing that this has not already been addressed given Microsoft's purported diversity values and policies https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/diversity/default.aspx
I cannot believe that this is not more diverse already!
this is very important
Please i really need this ! i cant kepp using this white skin emojis is actually racism if i do its like im pretending to be white
I came here looking for this. Microsoft, make it happen.
Your emojis are only white skin. There's also black people using Team. Can you please add more emojis with black complexion?
add skin options
yes i totally agree
Would additionally be great to have a default emoji gender selection, for similar reasons!

Some administrator marked this as complete back in 2018 by linking to a page to *buy* emojis! Unacceptable. This request has been out there since at least 2017 with no resolution. Every other app I use makes it easy to change skin tone.

Agree. I particularly find it annoying how hard it is to get to :thumbsup. After typing :thum its still the 7th choice on the list
Please increase the skin tone options for emojis to go beyond just pale skin tones. Very popular request from my customers.
Would be great to be able to set the default for emojis that support different skin tones. Having to long-form type those out all the time is really aggravating/tiring/frustrating.
