Attached link shown on task card must not use huge icon
As described in this forum post
the layout of Planner task cards with an attachment of type "link" for which "Show on card" is ticked has changed for the worse recently.
The feature adds a clickable link with a small icon before it to the card. A few days ago, this was all it did, and we liked it.
Now, the icon is also used as the preview image, larger than the card itself (see screenshot), wasting precious screen space. There seems to be no way to disable the preview image (other than not showing the link on the card at all). This makes the feature unusable for us. We want to have the link right on the card, but not the huge preview image.
Please revert to the old behavior OR add an option to attachments to "Show as (large) preview image", which one can disable if desired.
Yes, this is clearly a bug. Please fix this issue soon, it should be an easy fix, no?
Similar problem here when the links are added by Power Automate. Is there a way to update task so that we can access all the task parameters then we could simply apply an update task to select the show on card for the description part rather than the link part? Large link icons make the planner unusable.
Common sense is people need attachment links to show up in the card so they can access the attachment without having to open the card.
Adding this unnecessary big is preview is so useless. Clearly, the product manager for this app gives more value to look and feel rather than usability and productivity.
Please make end user need a priority over looks.

I also want to add in on this being extremely annoying. Being able to have links clickable directly from the board seems like an extremely useful feature, but the enormous link image makes this completely unusable. Note also that is my case there was no image to show, but the UI inject a placeholder link symbol.
This makes Planner almost unusable, we no longer have an overview of the tasks.
Is it really something we need to vote for? isn't it just an obvious design mistake? Why would somebody need this? Was there any reason for adding this?
These big icons waste screen space, enforce scrolling, and thus have a significant adverse impact on the nature of a board (which should provide an overview).
Yes, please bring it back the old way.
I prefer it to go back the other way. It becomes too cluttery and I don't see the value in it being there

I don't have "show on card" ticked, and I still see the huge paper clip. I find that if I go into the card, tick "show on card" and then "untick", the paper clip disappears. But this is not a good workaround, as I have 100+ cards on my board with links.
