For a presenter the power point option is great, because you can still see your audience listening/watching your presantation, especially during lessons in class! It would be great if you could provide us with a function to have a pointer or to highlight parts on the actual slide so the class can follow what I am explaining, it is especially heplful if you have graphics/idagramms you need to explain.

Is related to already existing, but more general suggestion https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/32852488-share-pointer-while-screen-sharing
Please vote also there, it has a high chance to be considered, as it has already > 2.700 votes, and could be more than half way of a PowerPoint specific feature.

If this refers for the ability for the non-presenting audience to use a pointer. You have my vote.
This audience pointing ability should work for anything; not just for ppt presentations

To add to/clarify: When presenting an uploaded presentation (ie, not sharing your screen in presentation mode, where I believe the pointers are an option) pointers are needed. I would prefer to present this way since you can enable feature that lets viewers click through the slides on their own, which I find super useful.

This would be useful not only during power point presentations but also when discussing any other shared screen in a team session.
