Alternate Host for Meetings Created in teams
In many of the online meeting systems when you create a new meeting you can provide an alternative host for the meeting so in the case you cannot attend another individual (that has a license) can run and host the meeting which means allowing guests into the meeting. This should be an option you can set per meeting or an option where you can designate a permanent alternative host.

The feature is needed. Only the host can record meetings.

this is a very important featu8re that I cant even believe is not available now. the ability to assign an alternate seems logical and is very important when scheduling meetings. Please add this feature ASAP

Yes, this is far less useful and much more difficult to plan and schedule meetings beyond a day or two.

Edited - May not need it for internal meetings. Invite the "Alt Host" as part of the original invite and they can be the presenter and do all that the Organizer can. See the second table on this page:
Original Post:
You won't be able to select someone from a different org as a presenter.Use it weekly, agreed this feature is needed sooner than others.
Here is another great user story here for the same need.

Was this ever addressed? I have not found a way to add someone as an alternative host.

Is there an answer here? I've been spending too much time researching this versus the convenience of using another hosting service like Zoom.

This is really important. there should be an option of alternate meeting host or better still ability to reassign host.
