Participant controls in meetings - block attendee video
Just another Skype for Business feature that hasn't been built in Teams yet - need the ability to block / disable all attendee video as part of standard participant controls (including make all participants attendees, mute all, mute lock etc.) This was done really well in Skype for Business, but for some reason we are starting from scratch with meeting participant controls in Teams.
We are excited to announce we will soon be releasing the ability to disable all attendee videos, and the ability to disable a single attendee video.
Please see https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?searchterms=70620 and https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?searchterms=70621 for further details.
So, in Teams meeting options there is now an option to Allow camera for attendees. In the Teams admin centre, we have set the students policy to disallow IP video, so students cannot turn on their webcams.
My question is, when we schedule a meeting with a student, which of the settings will take effect? Will it be the meeting options (webcam on) or the teams meeting policy (webcam off) for the student.
And also how can we set the Teams meeting option to off by default for Allow camera for attendees.
In this step-by-step tutorial, learn How to disable participants' webcams during Teams meeting and show only one camera.

Hello! Please provide an update on this feature. Thank you!
Is there an ETA for this feature?
We've been waiting for this feature for months. Could you release soonly, please?
It would be very useful. Looking forward to it.

Any update on this ? As regular teams meeting will grow up to 1000 participants soon, it will be now a good alternative to teams live event which is too restrictive (only 1 presenter at a time...). As the feature now exists for microphone (and prevent from participants to re-enable it during a meeting), you should provide the same for camera.
Any new updates on this feature? My organization is using Teams more and more by the day and this would be a great feature, especially for our bigger org wide events.
Are there any updates to this feature update? Thanks.
We can mute all participants but unable to block participant video. Hugely distracting and disruptive.
Will this feature introduce a camera icon in the participants list like the muted mic symbol? I'm looking for a solution to see which students have turned off their camera's in large gallery mode. If the participants list shows a muted camera symbol like the muted mic symbol this will make online proctoring with exams easier.

"on testing this the video feeds come up and it can be quite distracting even when spotlighting"
Please can we have the ability to unmute microphones for younger children!

Excellent idea! If an attendee has flashing lights in the background this can exacerbate health conditions such as epilepsy / migraines.
I would be useful if this facility was given to each attendee and not just the organiser.

I’m really pleased this feature is planned, I work for a local authority and we’ve had Cllr’s unwilling to turn cameras off when told and issues with bad behaviour (holding up signs when others talk etc!). Looking forward to this features release.
Would like to see this work much like the recently released hard mute feature.

Sounds good. I'm hoping there's an option to not include these videos main display? I.e. not just rows of blank boxes?

How long before it shows up ?
