Pinned chat categories
Would be nice to have the ability to not only pin IM chats or group chats, but create pinned categories you can organize your pinned chats into.
IE, Team members, Project groups, etc
+1 for this. I would like to be able to group users by department in my sidebar.
The ability to group my pinned chats into categories defined by me would be really useful. I would then like to be able to collapse the groups just like folders in Outlook and have notifications at the top level to let me know that a chat within a particular group has a new message.
This seems to me to be a relatively simple development, you already do it in other applications.
Really liked the idea as it allows to simplify view especially if you have multiple different chats going on at the same time with different groups of ppl. It would be great if you can tag conversation also and order them like Urgent, Important, Informational, etc So you may have a different views based on a communication style

We are a support organization. Various companies are now reaching out to us via Teams Chat.
Need to be able to organize chats. For instance, all chats from Company A in group, all chats from Company B. This while keeping the chats separate.
This would need the additional ability to expand and collapse these groups.
And an easy way to add a contact to a group of chats.

An extension of this idea would be to expand the selections in Chat for pinning locations. Currently, there are only "Recent" and "Contacts". Within Contacts you can create groups (e.g. IT, Project groups, etc.) Expand the pinning locations to include "Meetings" and "Groups"
